Just started doing this on my baitcaster . Probably doing it from now on too, it saves line as well which is great .

Something i do is ill beat the hell out of my line. Then when it comes time, i tie the battered end to another spool (that ive already done this to and is now empty) and then reel the line off one onto the other. That way all of the tattered line is the "backer line" and all of the "fresh" line that never got used is now the exposed line on the other reel. That way im only spooling one reel with brand new line at a time. Never had a problem doing that.

There ain’t no reason, just doing what others do. Lol Lived on the Chesapeake bay my whole life, all that is unnecessary.

I will be honest, worst fishing tips given. It's not Worth to add Mono backing because Mono stretches and Braid doesn't so you have much Better Connection with your lure

This is true, however you don’t cast all 200 yards of line off your reel so it’s not an issue. The mono backing only takes up the first like 50ish yards so the braid is all you actually fish with

You special? I mean i guess if you had like 25 yards of braid and you cast all the way to your backing the mono would stretch… but if you fill up the spool 20-30% with mono and the rest with braid you won’t get any stretch until you actually reach the mono, there won’t be any tension on the mono until then meaning no stretch. Secondly, if you were to get nearly spooled by a biggin you’d want a bit of stretch as a sort of shock absorption at the end of your line, one to help slow down the fish even more than just the drag(fish has to pull all the stretch out AND fight the drag) and not only that but if it properly spools you there’s a higher(still low but higher) chance the knot would hold on the end of your spool and you then have the chance to crank the fish in. How bout you learn how to fish before you make a dumbass comment

@@bige9564 I find the biggest drawback to this after a certain point is that the knot to the backing interferes with casting. In an effort to mitigate this, I've considered using the same backing as for fly line. I will do this as an experiment the next time I refill one of my larger spinning reels.

Nobody casting into their backing

@@NobleKorhedron ok that’s pretty interesting and I’ll consider it. What knot do you tie? If you have enough braid after it should have some braid on the spool after you cast so I wouldn’t expect it to interfere with casting unless you’re using really heavy mono. I would also maybe try homemade tippet by going from 40 down to like 16-12lb mono and then back up to the braid, which should make the final mono to braid knot fairly small.
