This is 100% true. My ex and me were both super sexual together for 7 years, 10 times a week spicy time MINIMUM, and when she moved in, this number dropped to a lazy effort 1 per week. After 2 months the only way she would be OK with spicytime is if I impregnated her. 100 % Absolutely right My ex moved in to my house with her kids after the lease on her rented house came to an end. After 2 years of living apart in our own homes I thought I knew her well enough to live with her. I WAS VERY WRONG. I have made just a short list of MANY of her behaviours which I didn't expect at all (Because I didn't think she was like this as I THOUGHT I KNEW her: 1. I didn't realise how co- dependent & 'entitled' she was. Even though she constantly was going on about how a "Strong Independent woman" she was. Absolute hypocrite. 2. I didn't realise how bad she was with money management & budgeting. 3. She was always broke 2 weeks before her next pay day & came to me for money - Even for her kids bus fare, lunch money or school clothes. (I would lend her the money for the kids school clothes or school trips but she NEVER paid it back) 4. She used emotional blackmail saying things like: 'Well you are my partner & you love me don't you? Men are 'supposed to' support the women they love". 5. She became very defiant & argumentative. -If I tried to calmly & quietly to give her any advice or my opinion on topics or situations she was stuck with which SHE brought up, "I was "Patronising her". 6. She would blow up over the slightest little thing & cause an argument over it(Crying over spilt milk) if I didn't argue back or if I walked away she would get even more aggressive. 7. I would come home from work & there would be strangers in my house without her asking me first She said things like "Oh, I just thought you would be ok with Sarah from work coming over & staying for dinner" (Whaaat??!!) 8. We had a very short brief conversation one day in whether we should have wood flooring or carpets which we both agreed to have a think about & discuss again later. One day I came home from work & she had pulled ALL the carpets out of EVERY room of the house & thrown them all over the back lawn. 9. I bought her a decent used car for her birthday & surprised her with a massive ribbon on it, balloons the whole works. I paid the full year road tax, her insurance & i serviced it for her myself. I told her the next year when her road tax & insurance expired it was her responsibility to renew it. When next year came around she came to me to cover all the costs. Suprise, Suprise. 10. Her (Trainwreck) friend would call her very late at night & spend an hour complaining about men & she would complain to her about me. 11. She stopped giving me any affection & would spend hours at night on her phone. If I came home after a long weekend with my mates after missing her & expecting to walk through the door for her to greet me with open arms & a hug or a cuddle , I never got it. 12. THIS IS THE POINT YOU MISSED RICH. HER BAD HABITS. When you live with a woman for a while & they become comfortable with you, all the nasty habits are revealed. - I would be relaxing in the bath after a long day of dirt biking & she would walk in sit on the pan & take a sh1t. - Whether it was on the sofa or in bed she would fart. Even loud raspy wet farts. - She snored like a Rhino. After calmly discussing it with her & suggest getting a special pillow or even enhaling Vicks before bed, she never did. - Morning breath & seeing all the spots & greasy skin without her makeup -She would bite & pick her nails whist we were watching our favourite T.V shows or films together. -When I had to use her car & she knew I had to use it the fuel tank was always emptying. She would even drive to work in a morning to drop kids off at school with the fuel light on. -Especially during winter, instead of doing one load of washing, hanging it up letting it dry then putting it away, She would put continuous loads of washing in the washing machine, so we had wet washing hung every where in the house all over the place. My mates would come round & say ..."What the f**k?!" I was so miserable & stressed out with it all that after finishing work I would park up in a quiet spot for an hour because I didn't want to go home as just never knew what I would be walking into. ....And that is just part of it. NEVER, EVER LIVE WITH A WOMAN. Live apart, always see her looking her best & having her best attitude & having her best manners for you. PEACE OUT ✊🙏🤟

For a relationship to work, it needs a few fundamental elements: 1. Interest in each other. 2. Boundaries set early and clearly, and agreed to. 3. Honesty with each other [as soon as you start to transgress the boundaries and hide the transgressions, that's the beginning of the end - and while the initial transgression can often be forgiven, hiding it and indulging it leads to the unforgivable, breaking the relationship]. 4. Continuing to create the relationship. This is making time for each other as well as working towards common goals. Been with the same woman 31 years now, 25 married, and we still very much enjoy each other's company and look forwards to seeing each other. She's the type to go out of her way to bring me lunch even though I'm at a work site an hour away, just to see me for 15 minutes. Why is she still like this? Because she puts in the work in the points I outlined above. Most women leave things on automatic at best, transgress at worst. Add to that financial incentives by the State, at the expense of the husband, and that's why women overall are unreliable as companions - and why marriage breakups are the norm. Edited to fix mobile misspellings...

In my experience, living together and seeing each other everyday leads to more arguing. Eventually making you ask yourself why you're with her. Living apart leads to a better relationship, where you are eager to see each other and there are less arguments. That's what I've been doing for the past several years.

I'm a retired doctor that is straight, and never married. I lived with a couple of good women, but ended both relationships after a few years. My dating years were amazing for decades. A rich, successful male patient of mine asked me " Doc. You never got married? I replied " No. I guess I haven't found the right one. " He replied " What made you so damn smart?" I was speechless. He replied "Don't change anything Doc." I never did. This video helps me maintain my perspective. 3 day weekends or short trips are great, to different surprise places, then back to my separate life and bed. Better peace of mind, and no problem saying " No."

Its nothing to do with being smart, men instinctively know when something doesnt benefit them but they still stupidly involve themselves with women because of the fear of being alone or something stupid like that or they think it gives them access to continued sex when sex can be had with many women . The secret is to be comfortable in your own skin without a woman, if a woman doesnt add value to your already contended life then why add her to it ? I was married for 14 years and I was only happy for the first year. Im 58 now single financially secure and have never been happier. If i want sex i rent, its cheaper and you get to choose which one you fancy for that moment. variety is the spice of life.

Sweet! My deceased husband Butch and I had our retirement plan of 2 small homes connected by a deck, while he was alive we shared a large house where he had his side and I had mine. We never shared a bathroom or bedroom for sleeping. It was wonderful for both of us. He was an oil field fluids engineer, so gone weeks at a time. So it was always exciting and we were able to miss each other on a regular basis. I had rental properties to manage. After 11 years I loved him far more and appreciated him more as the years go by. It scares the hell out of me to think of a full time joined at the hip living together situation. Anyway this guy tells it like it is and makes sense.

Rich referred to the study a few times in regards to the intense romantic feelings lasting in only 13% of couples after 3 years. Frankly, I am surprised it is even that high! I the book “the five love languages”, one of the most profound things I learned was that on average, this feeling only lasts about 18 months, but this love is taken over by a deeper love that happens in a maturing relationship. What we are seeing nowadays is the manifestation of a society that is incredibly shallow and selfish that seems incapable of providing the sacrificial type of love we need to have to maintain a long term relationship. People at that point are doomed to be in an endless cycle of seeking a relationship”high” until in wears off and they need their next fix!

Exactly right, 100%. Never, ever live with a woman. All the mystery and desire begins to leak out of the relationship the moment you move in together. Everything begins to get far too familiar and stagnant, small things become hugely annoying. You need to live apart, you need to miss each other so that you look forward the time you spend together. Worst thing I ever did was move in with my ex. I still believe that if we’d never moved in together, we would probably still be together. I’ll never, ever live with a woman ever again, even if I absolutely love her to bits. I learned the lesson.

It always seems like the grass is greener on the other side. It's good to remind myself that 50% of marriages end in divorce and probably another 15 or 20 percent are just staying together for the sake of the kids, so you're talking two-thirds of married people don't even want to be there anymore LOL. So maybe my situation isn't so bad.

I'm female and it seems that for both good men and good women best to not shack up. I wish 'gender studies' at US universities would be scrapped and replaced with looking into better ways men and women can live well as married couples. For religious and traditional people it seems to work better, but if people are more and more secular then in the US we ought to look into better secular ways to protect both good men and women as married couples. For example, make paternity fraud a serious crime in all states. No child support for children who are not one's own or legally adopted.

Great video, the way I handle this is that I allow my fiance, soon to be wife to live with me, but I have chosen a career path that has me on the road at least a few days a month if not more. I send her pictures and videos of me my coworkers (some females younger than her) having a great time at company events. I find this generates enormous competition anxiety that she tries to hide. When I get home, she is completely focused on me, she does her best to give me great sex and she does not nag me at all. I am totally faithful to her and she is reassured of that but I allow in just enough doubt into her mind for her to understand that she needs to stay competitive. Does this plan have lots of faults and traps? probably, but it works for me and provides and alternative to simply not living with your LTR of spouse. great video Rich, I loved unplugged Alpha. Keep up the great work.

Great video Rich, as a married guy of 18 years I can vouch for this. Too late for me as I have two kids and don’t want them to have to go through a divorce, so I am doing my best to keep it together, but if I could do it over again I would do so many things differently. Such as not slipping into a routine of only working and being a reliable provider, but also having significant activities and hobbies outside the home that do not involve her. Saying no sometimes, even to sex, I believe would also help keep things balanced, although I have been terrible at this one. I agree that women don’t necessarily do the betatization thing knowingly, but they are definitely pre-wired that way, and there is no way to change it. BTW cool drive down Adelaide St and merge onto the DVP. My daily commute. Cheers.

Saying No, sometimes even to Sex - good point. My way is to have sth you are pursuing: a career goal, business, sports or any activity that completely takes your mind off her...she must never stop pursuing you for her emotional needs. I mean Never! I always allow and will always make a woman(spouse) initiate sex..I can do the outside work but sex itself...Naa, that's her job. Why? That's what I enjoy and that's what she wants. I killed my selfish desire for sex long ago in order to achieve that feat.

He did not make deals with people. He pointed out, that if you make deals with one person, you have to start making deals with everybody. It turned out that she just stopped paying her rent so that’s why she was evicted. She had no intention to find another apartment and he ended up having to hire a lawyer to evict her. Mark Twain also said something : "Familiarity breeds contempt. How accurate that is. The reason we hold truth in such respect is because we have so little opportunity to get familiar with it." Ben Franklin: "Be civil to all; sociable to many; familiar with few." And Antoine Rivarol: "Familiarity is the root of the closest friendships, as well as the intensest hatreds."

Attraction grows in space. She has to have time to think about you, wonder, fantasize, ruminate, butterflies fluttering, anxiety building and building until she can’t wait to see you. As long as you keep an aura of mystery about yourself and keep a healthy amount of distance in the relationship, you will keep those butterflies fluttering in her gut. That’s crucial. You cannot bore women. This is why situationships are a thing with modern women. They’re addicted to the anxiety and uncertainty. @@Lea-hs4st Oh idk. I was saying in Situationships, women will get ignored for a week or however long and be obsessive the whole time.. And yeah, it should be obvious that he’s not interested if he leaves you on “read” for a week, but apparently it’s not so obvious to many women. Women like this are not healthy minded. They’re probably mentally ill or personality disordered or something. I have a theory, the reason these types of women never see the blatant red flags and obvious signs of being used for sex, isn’t because they’re dumb or naive or being tricked. It’s because they have some kind of trauma or baggage from childhood that distorts their perception of these things. What does that mean? Usually, if you’re around someone who gives you bad vibes, like you can tell they have an ulterior motive or that something is just off with them? It’s like a gut feeling, almost like an anxious uneasy feeling in the gut. Well, these women feel that too, but they misinterpret that feeling for butterflies, or that “spark”. Same with blatant red flags. You see red flags, it’s associated with similar feeling in the gut, right? Anxious uneasy feeling. She sees red flags and feels… 🦋🦋🦋 Despite logically knowing that those are red flags, she “trusts her gut” Now, some women will just be hardheaded and keep choosing fuckbois until they finally grow up, but the ones who are trapped in this cycle and who seem to have no insight at all, it’s because something is wrong upstairs. Now, that’s just my theory. Not that you asked, you’re welcome anyway. 😂 If you have friends like this, share it. Tell them to trust their brain not their gut.

@@Annasayshello I live in southern California. In Ventura and Orange County the divorce rate is around 80%. It's so ridiculous that in the neighborhood I live in, I have 3 neighbors that are divorced single women, and 1 neighbor who's a married divorce lawyer. My parents divorced in 1996. I witnessed my father lose a 5 bed, 3 bath house near the beach in Ventura. It was his 3rd divorce. His 3rd ex-wife tried to take 50% of his military retirement, but didn't get it since they married right after he retired. When they met, she was working in sales at a jewelry store and was 20 years old. He was 38 years old. She had nothing and he had everything. After 20 years of marriage, he was forced to give her 50% of everything for starters. Every few years he bought her a new car. She had her bachelors degree in accounting paid for by using the equity on the house because she didn't want to take out student loans. He adopted 3 kids for her, and paid for 1 child to be artificially inseminated. When they went through their divorce, I was 14 years old. She made my father live in our backyard garage for 6 months. He almost checked into a mental institution, but his therapist talked him out of it. After they sold the house, my mother insisted me and my brother move in with my father, and my 2 sisters move with her because she's a feminist. Anytime I called my mother after the divorce, she always had some demeaning question about my father such as 'How's that jerk?' Then she would go around telling everyone how's she a strong feminist single mother who's surviving in the patriarchy with her new business. The reason I'm 43 years-old and not married is because I witnessed that divorce and I've seen a lot of stories of other men going through the same or worse. Do you get it now? Divorce court is even worse today than it was when my father went through his 3 divorces.

The whole not living together thing goes beyond being in a relationship and extends into male/female family dynamics, I noticed the same thing happening as I got older and was still living at home with my parents, my mom and sister would constantly harp on about me being disorganised and messy and there was a lot of animosity in the household. These days I have a small place of my own and go to visit regularly and everyone is happier for it.

Here's the opposite scenario of not living together and/or being married. And this is a real life situation I lived. We lived in a duplex she on one side and me on the other... (not living together) every time we had an issue I would simple go back to my side not wanting to deal with the problem, this went on for 20 years and ruined our relationship.

I’ve been with my wife for 15 years. Definitely have had ups and downs, but eventually we moved in together prior to getting married. I had a lot of prior success with women prior to that and had absolutely no intention of ever getting married or having kids. I fell in love and that all changed. Maybe I’m one of the lucky outliers but I’ve had no issues living with my wife. We have two kids, and I wouldn’t want to be separate from my kids, no way. I pretty much do what I want and I have no complaints really. But she also makes like 8 times what I make so she knows she would be paying up if we ever split…that may help as well.

Religion, premarital counseling, 2 year dating & a comprehensive prenuptial agreement have a lot to do with the success of the marriage. You would do no less with a business partner. To buy into a law, brokerage or accounting firm, you gotta have years of proven billings. After buying in & you fail to hold up your end; you get fired/bought out. PURELY TRANSACTIONAL. It's human nature to slack off.

I have a slightly different perspective. If you find a women that that says she is looking for a man that shares in the value of the woman to be the matriarch at home and the man the patriarch outside the home, then it can work. The man the captain and the woman the navigator, then it can work. They both have to want that and respect each other. Btw, some women like routine because it gives them a sense of security.

I know 4 couples pretty well, 3 of which are married, 1 couple cohabitating, who seem reasonably 'happy'. The 3 married couples have been together (married) between 20 and 30 years. The mitigating factor is that the 3 married women were all born and spent their teenaged/early 20's years outside of the continental U.S. (and obviously) they grew up BEFORE the Internet was a 'thing'. The cohabitating couple were both born and raised in the U.S., and while in their 50's, have only been living together 2 or 3 years. All that being typed, I agree wholeheartedly that the odds for a successful union are NOT in a male's favor in a Western country. I think the future of marriage (for those who can afford to pull it off), and where there are no children, or they are grown, is some form of legal, "partnership" agreement..........maintaining two separate households. You're each other's medical surrogates and all of that, while simultaneously keeping your house the way you want it, having more control of your free time, and not being up under each other 24/7. If it comes to divorce, each party leaves with what they came with.

Men! Only date a woman who is in love with you! You only need to like her a lot! Thats it! You’ll make smarter decisions in the relationship! A man in love with a very attractive woman is destined for failure! Especially if she on social media. If you are currently raising kids with your ex do not involve another woman. You can do you again after they are adults! Move in no one and never ever move into her place! Reconsider when you’re older and with no under age children. Do not give any women titles until then and keep them away from your kids. Be the best dad you can be and as involved as possible. Workout and keep a couple female companions in the chamber for down time. You should be too busy to be “in love” for now.

A nice companion read to this topic would be... Michell Montaigne. Because he is basically the only one in the whole of Western life philosphy who profoundly explores a HUGE topic: how much can you handle ambiguity, the opposites within yourself, are you capable of loving the paradox that is existence and yourself in it. The fact that people really are born here to learn, the mastery of language and mind AND the balance of extremities (to be in LTR love AND not co-habitate as an example). Most people are in denial of one or the other. They can't combine both. They want simple, while the world isn't. It takes courage and abandon and, erm, vigilance, and the genuine desire to learn, in order to appreciate these things. Rabindranat Tagor has a novel about this kind of relationship as offered by a very wise woman to a less wise man. He declined. He wanted simple. And that's how most people operate, alas. So good luck finding a partner who appreciate separate living. You may need patience and perseverance. Maybe s/he leaves you at some point AND then come back, after re-evaluating the whole bit. So good luck indeed.

Same situation. Just realize you dodged a bullet, and your life will improve. It's a new beginning; embrace change like the Stoics suggest. Stop worrying; this is how life goes; embrace the change. Take up a new hobby, get involved in a community group, or do something you've wanted to do for a long while. Take care of your body, learn to eat like an elite athlete, get to the gym, and learn how to make your body irresistible. Also, for emotional heartbreak, learn the Wim Hof Method and start doing cold showers or plunges, near-infrared saunas, and intense cardio helps excellent. Diet-wise, get on the zero-carb carnivore diet; it makes a big difference.

My girlfriend has her masters degree in clinical mental health, she’s a city council member in our city. She works hard, keeps herself if great shape.
