Ok, hands up all those who clapped along with him when he did the speeding up trick, and when you went back to 80 bpm it suddenly seemed really easy! Great video and advice! Thanks!

Hi, thanks for taking time to share your expertise and help out folks. I saw your other video and liked it very much and wanted to check out the series on learning. I will over time give you feedback on how I find the instruction helpful, complicated, etc. Being new to the field of rhythm notation - even 1, and 2 and etc - is new vocabulary for me. I therefore felt that you might want us to give a short video of only 1 lesson to master and then go on to the next. May be being able to clap on 1, 2, 3, 4 and being able to do that for 5 min without failing.

Love your energy! And the song you chose...just beautiful. My mum and dad shared that song for years, it was theirs. When my mum passed away, we played it at her funeral. FOr the longest time

I'm so excited by this. I have no rhythm, literally people laugh at me. I dread going to a performance and they get the crowd clapping because everyone can hear me clap in between theirs. It's funny but sort of not. If this can help me it can help anyone 😀

I am my biggest challenge as are we all. Keep doing what you are doing, release what you feel in the moment for nothing happens by chance. If it makes sense to you, someone else wants to hear about it. Thank you brother for everything you are doing, and keep sharing yourself!

At 3 mins in why do you use beats 2 & 4 instead of 1 & 3? Thx Ed

Wanted to continue the feedback - so the second lesson would be 1, (2), 3, 4 - where beat 2 is to be skipped in clapping or clicking your fingers. I did not follow the remainder. Now when someone is practicing this rhythm is it possible to get some sort of grading done automatically so that when they feel comfortable to go to next level they have a grade report. Is there such a system. would like to know

Hi Ramesh, Great to hear from you. I think the BEST way to know if you are on time or not is to sit with a teacher or and experienced musician who will give you truthful feedback. Of course, many people don't have access to a person like this so the next best thing is to actually record yourself and listen back. Seriously, just turn on the put on the metronome, clap out the rhythm and then stop and listen back. I use the voice memos app on iphone. This is the best way I've found to monitor myself and my own practice. I also appreciate the suggestion for more basic videos. We definitely have more rhythm clapping videos coming!

What time stamp are you talking about? I’m curious to see what you are talking about, as I edited this 4 years ago or so -AJ

@@didgeproject Hey there, not sure of the time-stamp but as you sped up faster & faster for each increase of BPM , each increase in BPM a appears to be a separate segments edited together as one continuous video clip. It appeared to be segments rather one take. No big deal... I was just joking about it with you since probably no one else caught on....LOL... I probably would have done it that way as well... ..LOL ..
