jauntiness is the culmination of a bunch of things for me but mainly “am I able to beat this without stressing out very much”. Some jaunty gameplay can have plenty of tension as long as it isn’t actively stressful. The extent to which a map makes me feel like a kid in Willy wonka’s factory also plays a big part (does the gameplay have mini-surprises, does it use its limited space to make stuff fun concisely, etc).
