Most women wouldn't have delved into why Christian was the way he was. Her inquisitiveness and need to unearth his scars really allowed their relationship to become deeper and more profound than he had with any other submissive or Mrs Robinson for that fact. My feeling is that Jamie Dorn wasn’t made for this part and that’s why the actor is able to give a sympathetic voice to this control freak. In the book it shows him in therapy which sadly was cut out of the movie. Then there’s the contrast with “the boss” who exhibits the same behaviors as Christian without the respect or try to be better.

Interesting additional info: First choice for this role was Robert Pattinson. Robert already done trilogy with Twilight and Jamie got the role. Also Robert and Jamie were roommates. Jamie is so apt for Christian Grey.

I read the book before the movies (not like a lot of people), so I could appreciate a lot of details. First thing I noticed was he had grey eyes, as Christian does. That was awesome, then I thought he was a real good choice for the role.

Omg, he was not good at all. I was so happy when Charlie was going to do it. I could really see him in that role. I was very disappointed in Jamie. I really couldn't connect with him in that role.
