Years ago I hit myself in the nose with my foam three sectional staff, doing a over head spin move. And it hurt. My nose wasn't bleeding, but I imagined if I used a hard one like that one my nose would've been bleeding. But now learned how to use it properly and feel very comfortable using it.

To tell you a secret Jake, I admire your enthusiasm. Wish the rest of the world had it. Is it really true what they say that Chinese Martial Arts is in a sort of crisis? That the art is in danger of dying out? This is hard to understand since it´s so broad and versatile. And if what they say about Chi Kung/Qi Gong is true that a practitioner of it can hold himself physically fresh for his whole life then everyone should be training....

It's somewhat true, kung fu weapon maneuvers do translate between a lot of like weapons all over the place. However, in this case, they are translating so directly because he doesn't know any of the moves that are specific to the weapon. He's just spinning and throwing it around. Looks good, but he's 'screwing around' more than he's 'doing kung fu'.

That one looks closer to like the one Jet Li uses in Fearless. Except his is a traditional one and yours is a modern ball bearing three sectional staff.
@Robocoppat3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it could take years to master this weapon. And the reason it looks impressive is because of the spinning. Anyone who learned how to use a baton in school can do the same thing " Jake mace" is doing. Not to mention that he's using an OVERhand grip when he should be using an UNDERhand grip. What a Tool this guy is!!!!!!!

If a three sectional staff has five chain rings it becomes slow and hard to control. If it has three chain rings it is faster and easier to control. If your chain is to long, you don’t have to cut it, just connect the first links of chain with a carabiner.
@mikez4225 жыл бұрын
Woooooo a ball bearing. Watching you swing that 3 section staff looks cool but once an end of it actually hits something, it’s coming back at you or wherever it wants to go lol possibly your shin and that’s your ass getting jumped or killed.

He likely learned through watching kung fu movies, KZbin videos, and a whole lot of his own improv and guess work, on the basis that Jake doesn't show correct traditional Kung Fu or Tai Chi techniques. If you watch his 'self-defense techniques', he just throws 'styles' at situations with no understanding of the methodology the styles revolve around. Using Tai Chi moves in an external force-on-force method... he can say it's 'Internal' all he wants, and he's right saying that, but he has no applicable understanding about what 'internal' means.

The Viewer Good, because he is fake Kung Fu teacher, and he uses programs to make his moves look fast. Look up his other self defense videos, and pay attention to the comments. People that actually did martial arts seriously are laughing at him, and think that he is one big joke. I am one of them. Try to look up Shaolin Monks presentations on KZbin, they are really skilled with some cool weapons, so you may find it much more useful!

Bojan Jaklin Polić I think he spent years of training in this field and people start to lose reality i don't care what other people say about him i think he's professional not because i'm an experienced fighter or a martial artists but because what he says actually makes sense, sure i wont lie some moves are rendered useless in situations but the way he moves and the smoothness in his patterns really show the experience and the profession. I'ts my opinion respect it as i respect your's. :)

A real 3- section staff, bo staff, nunchaku's are balanced so that when used they work the way they should. A perfectly balanced bo staff will flow through the air very gracefully when used. I've made dozens of nunchakus when I was a kid back in the 70's out of broomsticks and rope and although crude looking they work for what we could afford. If anyone is going to learn how to use a weapon(s), I suggest that you learn from someone from a reputable school and let them guide you. I wouldn't listen to anything this Jake mace says. When I first started using nunchakus I learned I was using them all wrong. I had to be retrained all over again. It could take years, sometimes decades to learn how to use a martial arts weapon. And what is a real shame is Jake mace makes it look impressive on these videos but what he teaches would not work in the real world or in a real martial arts school! Just my opinion.
