I bought a young one for the first time this month and it has already dropped two leafs and I cut another one since I thought it was infected. It still has two main leafs without any sign of infection, cold or heat damage. I live in CT and the heat inside is pretty low during the winter, but I know high moisture is better for seedlings and young orchids. I'm hoping when the temperature goes up that it will push out new roots and continue to grow. The old media was too acidic so I think it placed the orchid on hold. I don't think phalaenopsis orchids ever take a break though. I repotted without compacting the sphagnum moss and small grade bark into a clear pot with slits. I can have it in an enclosed porch during the spring and summer but I don't know what its heat tolerance is as a young plant.

Thanks Dani, I have a belina corulia that's limp, not happy! Was expensive also and I think I'll repot it because when I received it she had next to no roots!! And I wouldn't live in Florida! Tornados,hurricane alley! And don't forget the sink holes 😉

I have one Bellini and didn’t know to keep it warm it’s so growing no new leaves. It’s slow growing…….

They are slower growing but yea keep it warm. Some people even put them on heat mats during the winter.
