Most afro tracks being dropped nowadays are of a 3 Step style, this can be heard on the kick pattern.

3-Step is a new wave in the ZA Afro Scene... It can be identified through the Kick Drum played 3x to create a bar. Go to the 10:00 mark on this mix and listen to how the Drum runs x3, then mutes... 1-2-3-Mute. 1-2-3 Mute... That's the foundation of 3 step, but not the limitation. Guys are creative out there going Afro Soul and Afro Tech on the melodies, with Thakzin incorporating Amapiano sounding basslines on his tracks.
