Informative video SIR for the power sector and enery law concept 🙏 The video discusses the essence of power sector reforms, emphasizing a three-step process: unbundling, corporatization, and privatization. These reforms, initiated across party lines, aim to enhance efficiency and financial viability. The 1990 Electricity Act mandated the separation of generating, transmission, and distribution entities. Unbundling led to the creation of distinct companies for each function. Corporatization involved transforming these entities into registered companies, seeking funds from various sources. Privatization, the final step, involves disinvestment and has been adopted by states like Delhi and Orissa. The ongoing process reflects a dynamic evolution in India’s power sector.
