I can only speak for the US experience :) here it's illegal. There is no workaround for it. But, you can work within the university campus if you are at a high financial risk.

If I were you, I would just leave the asset to the dad because that would provide a good safety net for his retirement. There is no need of a cost-benefit analysis here as the money would be spent anyway. And, once you move abroad the only tangible way of taking care of your parents is sending them cash which is a nightmare if you aren’t making much.

Pannalam, but you need a solid sales and outreach team. Normally, Indian software products are more affordable alternatives of US products. For example: Zoho email, I recommended that to many startups in the US, it just costs $1 whereas google’s gmail services are relatively expensive. In regards to freelancing, yes you can do it from anywhere in the world on platforms like TopTal.
