OMG you guys it is so good to be back!!! I was so excited to make this video that I kind of jumped all over the place so I hope you don't mind, lol. And I think I am the absolute queen of saying, "Ok, and to wrap up this video..." and then talking for 7 more minutes! Like, no, that is not wrapping up a video that is continuing the video... haha. I think when I say I'm gonna wrap up the video, that's code for "we are only halfway through, guys!" lol. Anyhow, thank you all for your patience. This year has been crazy but I finally feel like I'm back on my feet and man oh man is it good to be back!!

It's always a happiness and pleasure listening to you! You are a great coach for sure and you also tell us different interesting stories, share with us useful information, and give us valuable advices! Please continue to be with us! ❤ I totally agree with you about priorities, especially in learning and maintaining languages. I'm a native Russian speaker, but for the last 10 years I've been living in Cyprus and my husband is Greek. I speak greek fluently but I decided not to continue learning it, because as you said - I realized that my Russian started to sound a little but weird. So I read and listen to a different content in Russian as well in order to speak beautifully and properly.

Hello! Thank you for this video. I'm from Belgium and I've been learning English for 2 years at least. I learn a lot when I'm watching KZbin videos or movies. I also talk with my family who lives in America, they're from Michigan and California. I notice that my brain memorizes more easily when I'm listening to people speaking each other than when I'm reading something. I took tests in English and I've got a B2 level. I try to improve it to reach the C1 and next the C2 level. Anyway, you've got one more subscriber. You speak very well! I understood everything you said without stopping the video. 👍

Not really working on my English, but I love watching you as you're my favorite thing on youtube. I wish that in English we had a different word for love in the context of "I love that show", or "I love ice-cream" as having only the word love for everything really makes the word love lose its power. The closest we have in English that I can think of are "like" and "enjoy", but given Americans want to emphasize the passion they have for an object or activity, they will use the word love. Anyway, I love you, Stephany! You are my dream girl for sure.

LOST.

I comprehend almost 100% to Stefanie and many other persons in YT, but, when I am watching a movie like for instance "Bad Boys" I don't comprehend even 40%, I feel I need to understand that kind of "language" because in my work and on the streets people speak like that, and I am usually lost. What do you recommend me to do? Thanks

Keep watching movies like that. You'll get used to it. I'm learning Japanese and whenever I start a new type of show or movie it will be difficult at first but after a while I start to get used to that set of vocabulary and that speech pattern. Just keep going.

you can only understand the 100% of words what you already know, so for these new words, you have to find out their meaning and their pronunciation, and then you will see your understanding improve eventually

Jose Fernandez, el 60% de palabras que no entiende, son nuevas palabras para su conocimiento, si practica solo escuchando temas sencillos no va avanzar, por cada palabra nueva escribala, busque significado y pronunciacion, y cada vez su conocimiento se ira agrandando

Dearest coach stefanie i am addicted to listening your lesson. your pronunciation fascinates me. i have used the" shadow"- imitating you.The subjects i choose are extremely interesting. my weak point is listening.i have being studying English for a long time by myself. i lack a speaker to help me practice. you are fantastic. congratulations for your advices. your website is amazing! i can learn this myself on how to speak and write native english. please continue this kind of path of yours lots of students like me will learn a lot from you made me realized that i am not prioritizing english in my life as i should!, sometimes we have so many things in our minds that we want to learn, that at the end we are not really learning as we should. one thing at time is better Muchas gracias stephanie i totally agree with you. one mistake Iam doing as i learn is not applying the output in my study. i feel i know, but when it comes to applying the language i always feel empty and end up worrying about the proficiency of the language. Great advice when you say, 'A non-native speaker actually can be an advantage", my heart is bumping literally. for a long long time, i might enclose my mind in that mindset. for giving me A chance to change my perspective. from now on,I'll treat myself as one who is able to learn a foreign language and dedicated.

I believe "Friends" is one of the series that all the English learners must watch, besides I love "suits" and "house of cards" those are amazing series (hint: they are meant to people that likes the law or political issues, I'm a lawyer by the way :) ) and the amazing "Breaking Bad" all of them are in Netflix

I like listening to news in English, but I used to listen to news from American media on KZbin only, and recently I began listening to news from Australian media, and I'm still trying to get used to the Australian accent. It's a little different the way some words are pronounced in Australian accent, and also the way people speak.

Welcome back Stefani! we've missed you. I'd like to recommend 2 channels: the first one for a motivational speaker called Terri Savelle Foy, she helped to change my mindset that affected different areas of my life. The second one called Charisma On Command , very useful to improve confidence and communicate better.

Darwin Guiza She has one of the better dictions that I've heard in times. Unfortunately it’s not the same true for others who are also native speakers
@alexquyenvo51964 жыл бұрын
It's because you're familiar with her accent, but in movies there are many people talking in different accents, could be all American accents but they come from different places in the U.S, so just take it easy, and maybe try to watch talk shows, there are different hosts with guests from all over the place, so it's good to hear different accents. Hope that helps !
