@@Mechone11 thanks for sharing. Well if that’s true (being cheap) saving $100K or more in taxes must be important to you?

I’ve had some high quotes for a “retirement plan”. Like $1500 plus. What is your rate to do a good plan? Thank you.@@AaronWealthManagement Hello

I am a cheap guy too. I prefer to say "financially prudent". I went to school and studied engineering. I think I am pretty handy around the house. I do my own plumbing, electrical, etc. But I am also wise enough to know when I should NOT mess around with these systems. I look at financial planning the same way. I do not need a financial planner to do spreadsheet math, or to help me choose between RBC or TD to invest in. But when there are decisions to be made about taxation or other very strategic items, I will tap into a professional. My experience is that if you want a very specific deliverable, then a very good FP will price that for you appropriately. You can also shop around and get one that you have good vibes with and understands your needs as a client. Self direct and plan away as you see comfortable. I do the same. But professionals in all fields are needed now and then in our lives and that assistance comes with a price.

@@macdaddymgiarc your correct ,I do need a financial plan that is cost effective for me with regards to taxation only .I don't need to be told where to put my money I've done pretty good on my own after a financial planner lost me over a 100k in 2008 when I told him to sell and he talked me out of it and to cash in another define benefit pension i had . I then took a stock market course at local college and never looked back. I also had friends that a financial planner refused to give them their money to pay off mortgage and also talked them into cashing out a define benefit pension. So my trust in them is tainted. I'm also a licensed Millwright/ Electrician and a maintenance manager for a large corporation, so I'm also pretty handy..lol
