-- Summary --
It may be simple, but it’s certainly not easy…
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, there are approximately 5.3 million people of all ages in the U.S. alone with Alzheimer’s disease and another 1 million with other types of dementia.
Even more frightening is the younger age at which Alzheimer’s disease is starting to show up. It is currently estimated that as many as half a million people in their 40s and 50s have early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. By 2050, the number is expected to triple!
Since there is no cure on the horizon, PREVENTION, early diagnosis and intervention remain our most powerful allies. And when it comes to prevention, the most important starting point is realizing that evidence.
Alzheimer’s disease begins in the brain 30-50 years before any symptoms arise.
Memory problems need to be taken seriously at any age!
Losing your memory or developing brain fog in your 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, or even 80s is NOT normal. Just because it happens to so many people doesn’t mean that it’s optimal or healthy. It is a sign of trouble and needs to be looked into medically.
In this week’s short video, Dr. Daniel Amen and his wife Tana Amen teach you the 3 key steps you can take to prevent Alzheimer’s disease right NOW!
In addition to the 3 key steps, here are just a few of the helpful topics they cover:
How being in the wrong job can increase your chances of Alzheimer’s disease.
Discover how too much stress can actually cause your brain to shrink.
Learn how much sleep is critical to improving your memory.
Find out what you need to be doing smarter, not harder!
And what does gum disease have to do with preventing Alzheimer’s disease?
For more life-changing tips and brain-health information, subscribe to the Daniel G. Amen, MD KZbin Channel for weekly talks on how to live a healthier, happier and longer life.
If you or a loved one are experiencing memory problems, come to an Amen Clinic for a comprehensive full evaluation using the Amen Clinics Method.
The Amen Clinics Method-developed through 25 years of clinical practice-uses a detailed clinical history, SPECT Brain Scan Imaging to understand brain function, neuropsychological testing and laboratory studies to target treatment specifically to your brain, using the least toxic, most effective and natural means possible.

I just learned about you and SPECT this week. Of course I want to find out about my brain. I will start supplements and working on getting healthier now. I also have been working on B.J. Fogg with Tiny Habits AFTER some other activity. I floss my teeth when the computer is booting, and then I celebrate that I did something.

which kind of exercise ? just move ? because many people have strong back pain, even walking is painful, and physiotherapy doesn't help... so are very soft movements enough ?

Interesting, I'm liking what I am hearing. But I have a problem understanding how the brain can be 60% fat, and at the same time, be 80% water. The fat and water in the brain = 140% ??

Erin Smith - Hi Erin! I don't know abou you, but I don't enjoy watching these two talk together! I've watch Dr Amen for years & read his books, think he's great! His wife is very bright & gives excellent information too. But together it's comes across like he is talking to her to make her happy, and she interrupts what he's saying to express what she's thinking. They both do much better giving separate talks & talking to the audience, not each other!!

I loved this presentation but why is Tana always wearing sleeveless and low cut tops? If you want to be taken seriously why not crank up the air conditioning a bit in order to wear a little more fabric while presenting?

Thank you for this video.. i have been a fan for several years. I first watched a special on pbs about brain health. . I lost my mom at age 70 to Alz and colon cancer in October of 2013. I am on a crusade to save my own health and brain and continue to research way to overall health. I appreciate what you share with your viewers. .. i would like very much to know if there is research on the benefits of meditation in preventing or slowing Alz .... i strongly believe and feel meditation if done early enough and regularly will be a key factor in the war against the mind... and body... along with and overall healthy lifestyle.
