One question pleaaase ! I have an Apollo that should receive signal from SS6. Should I use Line mode (with Jack) or Mic mode (with XLR) ? People says that Mic mode is dangerous in case you activate by mistake the +48 volts mic mode. What are your thoughts please ?

Great video. For those interested in powering OTO pedals, the Cioks DC-7 works via an #8800 parallel adapter flex cable (you'll need two outlets for each pedal), followed by a #2050 or #2030 standard red type 2 flex cable - both outlets on the DC-7 set to 15V. Poul Ciok personally helped me set this up. I love that product.

Thanks for introducing me to the SS-6. Here's a few of my favorite 'go to's'. - industrial strength velcro (my favorite thing in the world). If you want to try it, i recommend a layer of painter's tape between the surface and the velcro. This will keep paint, wood, etc, from peeling off, and it helps with taking the velcro off much easier. - big fan brush for skinny/tight places, and dust cloth (swiffers) - Strymon Zuma pedal power brick - Electro-Harmonix Tri Parallel Mixer pedal. My pedals are run serial from patch bays, so this pedal comes in handy when i want a parallel sound. Runs on my main mixer aux out. - Finally, my patch bays. If i can turn it on, and it has I/Os... I patch it. Hey Oora, sorry for an off-topic question, but how are you liking the Push 3 as an alternative to the Octatrack? I enjoy my Push 3, but have been thinking about getting the Octa., so just wondering how you feel about playing/performing music with both devices (are they similar/different/is one easier/more creative). If you have the time, even a minimal short answer is good enough for me. Thanks man! Also, have you thought about releasing your Superbooth 24 performance as an EP or something?
@el_dani5 ай бұрын
@@vvcv__00 Push 3 is slowly getting there. Octatrack is also a complicated device, with some great performance possibilities (with presets by Ezbot) but outdated fx quality. Only mono sample 3 octaves replay. Push 3 is worth it alone as an MPE instrument or synth expander or final fx chain with unlimited recording.

About the Datanoise Octawave: As far as I understand , if you want to use it to send CV output for modular synth u need more modules.. it doesn't send voltage +/- 5v or 0-10v this is a quote from the manufacture site: Control Voltage (CV) Output The OctaWave has DC-coupled outputs which can be used to send control voltage to Modular Synthesizers. The voltage outputs is around +/- 3.063V DC rail-to-rail. You can offset the voltage in your eurorack system to achieve around 5 octaves tracking or use an attenuverter to scale it to +/- 5v or 0-10v.
@RetrospektiveAudio5 ай бұрын
The desktop version sends +/- 3V (6V peak to peak) output, the Eurorack Version has outputs with +/- 10V.

My workflow has completely changed since I got the TX-6 by Teenage Engineering. It has increased my productivity significantly because of its simplicity, small practical size, and no-nonsense connectivity. If I want to record a quick demo, I plug it into my iPhone and record with the Dictaphone app. When I want to record more seriously, I connect it to my laptop, and it simply works without any configuration.

I don't understand why the Franklin Audio system costs €313 plus taxes when you can achieve the same functionality with a basic 19" patchbay for €79, which also offers more versatility. It would be helpful if you could suggest some simpler alternatives for those who aren't as tech-savvy.
@JamesLevine-p6l21 күн бұрын
pretty please, could you coordinate with Datanoise to create an ADAT device with direct monitoring? I don't think the limitation of Push 3 to only monitor through playback, after conversion, is really the best scenario. If I can input via adat to something small, such that I am not carrying around a rack mount preamp, which supplies it's own headphone monitoring, that would be the best solution under these circumstances...

Hey thanks for the must have tips :) Have you tried using the DC7 to power multiple Moog desktop synths? (e.g. Labyrinth, DFAM, M32 & SUB) it would be great to have just one power source and remove the power bricks.
@OoraMusic5 ай бұрын
i powered the labitynth and the godfather, didnt try any other combinations
@GahlordDewald5 ай бұрын
It runs 500mA into 12v (what the M32, SubH! and DFAM use, I assume Laby does too but I don’t have one). All the little moogs ship with 600mA plugs but the devices don’t use anywhere near that much. It’s listed in their manuals what the draw is, usually like 200mA or something. Check the manual and as long as the draw is below 500mA you can plug one into every port on the DC7. I have plugged mine into the 12v ports on a DC10 and daisy chained em and no troubles at all. Cioks supplies are top notch.

Isn't one patchbay capable of a lot more than the Franklin SS-6? It seems like a patchbay with only two outputs
@GahlordDewald5 ай бұрын
Yes. I get that turning a knob might seem easier though. But a collection of any size is so much better served with a patchbay and a couple nice DI boxes. But you know every person’s creative practice is their own and if they want to turn a knob instead of patch a cable and they’re ok with the limitations of the Franklin workflow then that’s ok.

I was considering getting the Franklin SS-6 but (apart from being German and finding it offensive when something has "SS" in its name) Franklin doesn't have any retailers outside of Australia, so it's very hard and expensive to get. Also I have everything patched and connected into a 16-stereo channel summing mixer all the time (Speck X.sum, 1U 😍) so I would use the Franklin just to route some rarely used synths into my Blackbox sampler. I want to play my main synths simultanously live, so the Franklin is really not for them!
