This is amazing, and it does really consistently work! I have the privilege of training under Professor Brown at 2ndgearbjj, and have been drilling this escape since he taught it in class a week ago. I am an older white belt, I am not that agile, however I have been able to escape the mount of several higher belts using this technique during live rolls. I have been doing #1 and #2, I still can’t do the shimmy very well.

Hi Ken...I like this...question: in this case your opponent is sitting up strait. Have you had success with this when your opponent is lying down on you with shoulder pressure?

I tend to use it early in the transition to the mount position. But in general, whenever I can get the frame across the belt line, I've been able to create massive amounts of space with the bridge. Escapes then just naturally flow from that space.
