@jmflyer553 күн бұрын
Being "trusting" is one thing, acting out of sheer stupidity is another. Many people today don't have even an ounce of common sense running through their brain! Guided by selfish motives and illogical reasoning, making critical decisions based on wanting to get "good Karma" returned to you, is about as dumb as it gets, considering the situation that person was in. And also like in the other story, the woman was clueless someone had followed her all the way home in another vehicle AT NIGHT, but never saw their headlights?? And then, doesn't notice them watching her get the hidden spare key? And THEN, runs to her 65 year old father and mother to fend the man off and keep her safe?? Remember, she had just moved BACK home due to failed relationship. What struck me the most? At the end, her father surviving, bailing her out, the crazed man in her parents home etc?? All she says is, "I can't wait to move back out of here where I feel safe again, in case guy comes back"... (Selfish woman! What about your parents who will onviously stay living in their hone that YOU let that creep into??!!... And now, youre just gonna bail on your parents again when you don't need their financial support? Wow... Unbelievably self centered and Selfish IMO) In conclusion, I find that SO MANY of these stories seem to be written by "young people" that seems to share this incredibly self-centered, selfish way of thinking and acting. I mention it quite regularly when it really sticks out in a story, and I usually get quite a lot of backlash for saying so! People don't like being told theyre selfish. But my main point/question is, what's caused so many young people to become this way these days? I'm les to believe it's a major shift in the habits of society. If that makes sense. I mean why and HOW the hell did so many young people get this self entitled attitude that seems to run rampant these days? That's what I see it as IMO. As if whatever they want, they deserve to have and if anyone says different, they believe "to hell with that person"... An attitude like "It's my way, or the highway" as we use to say years ago. What do other people think about this? Do you see it differently? Do you feel she treated her parents and their home respectfully? What do you think about the other story, with the young MAN waiting in a bathroom stall for a policeman to come into the bathroom before he's open the door? Does that sound "normal" to you? Back in my day, near 60 years ago when I was his age, we'd say a "man" like that was a coward. But I guess today, behavior like that from a healthy young man is "normal"? To have such strong fears of other men? For me it isn't, and never was, especially as a young man! But even at my age now, I would never wait to be rescued by a policeman from a toilet stall because a man was standing outside of it, and hadn't even said a word or produced a weapon of any sort. Curious to know other mens thoughts. Now, I could imagine my elderly grandmother being scared of a "menacing looking man staring at her", but not at a healthy young man who should be perfectly capable if defending himself. Thoughts?

Back in about 1998 I was 21. At the time I was a smoker. I stopped at a Cumberland Farms on the border of NY and CT at about 2am to buy cigarettes. As I walked in a young Hispanic man approached and asked if I could help him. He said he was jumped and the jumpers beat him and slashed his tires. He wanted me to drive him to the hospital in Greenwich CT. Sure enough there was a car in the lot with two flat tires and he had. 2 cuts in his face. The tires looked deflated not slashed and the cuts on his face almost looked intentional like what you might have seen in an old wrestling match from the 80s. I asked if he called the police. He said that he did. I immediately told him I couldn’t help him. He asked me why I wouldn’t. I told him because I don’t believe the police would leave him here in this situation in the middle of the night. I went in, got my smokes and left. As I left the car was there but he wasn’t in sight. I don’t know if he legit needed help or was trying to set me up. Regardless it buried the needle on my bullshit-o-meter when he said he called the police.

Karma just doesn't exist, and I personally think it is quite a selfish notion, thinking if I do something good I get something good out of it. If you want to do good just do it, don't expect something from being good, it's just the right thing to do. Also if karma existed then wars where despots win and horrific people shouldn't exist, yet they seem to live for a long time etc.
@Farhan_0499 күн бұрын
@henrybartram9854 Exactly. Hence, if I feel slighted by somebody, I take matters into my own hands. I don't wait for divine intervention or karma!

You can still help others out..... Just be smart about it For instance, that Wendy's had been closed for a bit probably why was that car there? For another thing why was it parked by the woods? And finally if a situation doesn't feel normal.... That's probably your brain telling you you need to leave, yea your brain has a kind of spidey sense for danger if I understand my highschool psychology class correctly it's usually a good idea to trust that sense.

First story gave me the chills. My fear has always been encountering an intruder in the house who may react violently. Rather than leave a spare key outside your house where someone might find it and use it to enter, you can give a key to someone you trust who lives nearby.

I was riding back from Montana to Seattle late at night (I was 18) and my bonehead boyfriend had weed in the car. We got pulled over at the famous speed trap in Ritzville at 10pm at night, my boyfriend was arrested and the cop sent me home to Seattle by myself. He gave me a really good piece of advice though, he told me never to stop at rest stops at night. Find a 24 hour gas station or pee in a cup. He said I shouldn't even stop at rest stops during the day as a solo female traveler. That piece of advice always stuck with me.

Story #1: Pedantic: the word is "terrified." "Horrified" is completely different. "Terrified" means you're extremely afraid. "Horrified" means you're extremely revolted or shocked by something you've experienced, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're afraid. Story #2: You're going to put yourself in danger because of a ridiculous concept like karma (and you're not even using it right)?

I’ve had a hardened military vet tell me a skin walker stories that shook them to the core. It’s one thing to hear stories of missions they’ve went on, some of which were just normal deployment missions. But when you feel the emotion and the fear coming from someone that is literally trained to kill. That’s a different kind of fear.

First story makes no sense. Why is it cheaper to pay with cash inside than use a card at the pump? Why would you move back home, use a spare key, then put it back outside? Why not just hold onto it? Also, if she was driving her mom’s car, wouldn’t her mom’s key chain have a house key? None of it makes sense.
@PrettyH8Mach1n39 күн бұрын
Paying cash is often a few cents or more savings than if you pay with credit card. That's based on my experience in NY specifically. I think it has to do with processing fees for credit card. Restaurants sometimes also do this. They usually write on the menu or website that there is an upcharge of 5% or whatever for bills payed with a credit card.
@moomyung92319 күн бұрын
Weirdly, the gas station at the corner here is that way. It's a few cents less per gallon. Maybe because then they don't have to pay transaction fees? But I drive at night, and when I've used cash I pay inside first a set amount that the person then adds to the pump number I tell them.

I was playing hide and seek in the woods with my friends I'll call Tony, Daniel, Rich, and Adam. We started at about 30 minutes before sunset. Tony was seeking first and we all hid behind some trees. Then a black shadow ran across the clearing in between me and Rich, we sprinted to Tony and called the game, but then Daniel came sprinting down through the clearing and right behind him was a deformed humanoid creature crawling on all 4's, we all high tailed it out of there, we made it out alive but we never played in those woods again. I'm stills friends with them to this day, I've known them since 2021. Every time I think about this moment it sends chills down my spine.

i was on a road trip late at night with buddy. middle of nowhere, blinkers on this car. we hadn’t seen another car in probably 30 minutes and there was no cell service. i was armed and felt safe enough so we stopped to see if they needed help. we pulled behind them and immediately i just felt evil and said “keep going, trust me.” sure enough the car started to follow us really close. not even 5 miles later we came across a motorcycle fatality and we’re able to tell the cops about what happened. they took my statement and said they would pull the car over. i heard the cop pull over the car over the radio of the cop i was talking to, then he asked for an additional unit and right before we left dispatch told them the guy had multiple extraditable felony warrants.
