Today I am talking about Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Self Winding Chronograph (Ref. 6331OR.OO.D821CR.01) and giving you my review of this watch. I've had it for one week on the wrist and while I consider this almost the perfect watch, there are some things that I hate; three things in particular. I'll discuss the case size, the way the alligator leather strap is integrated with the case and the case back.

This watch is the updated version of the 26320OR.

The reason why the caseback is not open is because this watch and all 39, 38 and 41mm AP Royal Oak Chronos do not have an inhouse movement. Its a highly decorated and detailed movement called the Audemars Piguet Cal. 2385 based 100% on the F. Piguet 1185. Cal. 1185 has been used by Blancpain (including a flyback model), Franck Muller, Vacheron Constantin, and Audemars Piguet in the Royal Oak chronograph. Its an amazing movement but not 100% inhouse thats why AP hides it away. I have seen it and it is beautiful but no comparison to 3120 or other AP movements

Well said, as someone with a smaller wrist, this unfortunately becomes almost comical on my wrist. I can get away with a Nautilus (4O.5 mm) but the 41 mm AP chrono wears too big. Also 100% agree with the caseback, I don't understand why they cover it up. Great vid!

its not an opened caseback because its not an inhouse movement. its an F. Piguet movement owned by swatch group. I sold mine RO Chrono, AP is not a good quality watch as I thought it would be. Nice but not worth the money! 👍

Really like the thinness, but it does feel way to broad. There are serious gaps on my 17 cm wriet.39 is still the size for the Royal Oak for me.

I don't hate three things in this particular model. I hate in general all Genta"s models. I mean aesthetically I hate the Royal Oak and the Nautilus. Every single model. I have this particular problem with AP... Why is this brand considered being part of the holy trinity? If they have their collection based on this damn model. I would understand more if JLC or Breguet were there. Lange too, but they can't, they 're germans. Cheers

It's funny I love AP because they're bigger watches because I have an eight and a half inch wrist practically when I put a 40 41 mm watch on my wrist it looks like a stamp. I need at least a 42 mm watch minimum my ideal sweet spot is 44 mm
