Good tips. Good vive. Handheld mic is distracting for me for some reason. Love the b-roll : )

1st advice was profound for me. Having dealt with certain clients wanting a crazy amount of revisions, not falling in love with V1 makes so much sense.

Glad to hear that and thanks for your time again! Definitely something we gotta keep reminding ourselves of haha

This. Is so on point! I have just got my finished V1 rejected from a client who always accepted my V1s and it feels like a real heartbreak. I wish I saw your wisdom earlier. PS. But would it make so much sense to my past self though?

Yo I am DYING at your B-Roll. You're hilarious and 100% correct!. Still learning and relearning some of theses lessons on cooling my own emotions.

Great tips thank you. It would be great to see you do a real time revision edit?

One thing that’s helped me with interviews and videos that require a lot of cutting, is sending the client a raw uncut version and having them give you as many time stamps and their vision. And then send them the project file and let them edit it themselves, have them send it back to you to colour grade 👌🏻

That should have been the bonus tip damn! Words of wisdom bro looool. (Wait, how do you do that in Resolve??)

I've been working inhouse with an agency for the last year and without noticing it I've kind of learned this tips. You just made me notice it. Sometimes we learn important things and don't appreciate the time we spend (or should I say "invest"?) on learning something that end up being really important for our mental health rather than that helps on being super productive. Thank you so much for this videos and this space for reflecting on our passion with videos!

Yoo that's awesome! Agency life is tough so kudos for getting through the year. Thanks for the kind words and glad you got some reflection out of it. Really good point that we should remind ourselves to not only be worried about being super productive. I needed to hear that too haha. Thank you for your time and input Juan!

@@boywithacamera And the funny part is that most times what makes us productive is actually related with self care and not with being productive per se! So much to reflect on haha. Have a nice day Joon!

What’s included in 1 round of revision? How many changes is in 1 revision?

Could you recommand a clear way of requesting / receiving revision instructions from a client? At the moment I am asking them to make a list like: cut out from 2 minutes 15 seconds... or so, but times aren't always lined up... is there a better way? Thanks
@boywithacamera2 жыл бұрын
I definitely prefer bullet lists with timestamps that I can convert to a to-do list quickly on my phone Notes app or in Notion (ie. 0:10-0:15 - Replace clip with blahlbahblah). If client notes become too messy then I'll try to rephrase things into easy-to-understand action items using clear words like "Replace" "Cut" "Delete" "Add." Also I noticed the times in Premiere never lined up with the times in media players like VLC or Quicktime so I always watch the exported video I sent to the client when reviewing their feedback. Hope that helps!

When all else fails, throw your phone as hard as you can across the room and you'll feel much better
