The Sure SM7 is one of the few dynamic mics that sometimes ends up as the vocal mic in the records we buy and love. Realize the Shure is competeing against condenser mics that cost into the five-figure range (!). The SM7b also deals with plosives better than a condenser. That said, the Blue Yeti is a lot of mic for the money, and the figure-of-8 pattern can save your bacon in a one-on-one podcast interview. So there is no immediately simple answer for the Castos client base. Either will serve you well provided you put a small amount of time in finding the best placement, gain, and angle.

I watched dozens of similar videos recently and it was the most helpful. Thanks! I put my Yeti aside and I wondered why it sounded so strangely. I will try it in front of me :)

@@Castos Thanks! Once I recorded the raw audio, how to improve it with Audacity? Do you have a step-by-step guide about that?

“This is probably the most foolish thing you’ve ever seen.” 😂 Thanks for this video. Uploaded my trailer and 1st episode so far using Descript, Castos, and seriously simple plug in. Thank you so much! This is a helpful video.

If you own a Blue Yeti, i'm sure you can figure out the knobs. That's not what you came here for. So don't bother watching this video, instead I can tell you from experience that you need a Desk Mat (because your desk is reverbing the sounds and you need a few acoustic foam panels on surfaces in front of you. That's it. That will take away the hollow empty room sound of your voice.

Any chance on what volume setting you generally had on the blue yeti mic during its test during the mic gain adjustment?

Hi. Where can I find the other USB mic you have been talking about? I don´t understand the name.

Do you have any tips on how to use the USB microphone in Clubhouse? I'm trying to figure it out and I'm not sure what adapters or additional equipment I might need. Weighing my options. I have a Yeti Nano.

This was going to be one of my next videos. The trick is to plug the mic into a powered USB hub before plugging THAT hub into a USB adapter to your phone.

@@Castos any specific product recos? I have the USB 3 to lightning camera adapter but you're saying I need another powered hub in between right? What does that look like?

@@Castos thanks again - ps - making the video is a good idea- literally its nowhere on youtube or the internet right now (that I could find) they all offer aux or xlr setups.

Blue yetti desk stand sucks. Go for a boom arm (thats what I use) or a desk stand , The onstage Desk top stand is great. Is adjustable with a solid heavy base.

I've been using my yeti for a year. If I position in right its great, when I move it at all its terrible, sounds hollow or echo chamber. Last night I tried to reshoot a 15 second clip, and it didn't matter where I moved the yeti, I couldn't get back to good audio. 65 attempts and every single one is bad. Did the yeti just stop working and that's why? Only other thing I can think is that I have a large mirror behind it and maybe the sound is bouncing off it? (I use the mirror because the buil in light is great). I've used the mirror before, but maybe it's positioned different. Would a hard surface like that be enough to throw the audio off so severely?

If the audio was that bad, are you sure the recording app wasn’t using a different source? I think the easier solution in most cases is to upgrade to a different mic versus trying to solve for the yeti, unfortunately.

Just seen your comment. I got the same problem. I have to stay really close to my mouth or the sound is "really" echoey. I guess having a soudproof room would help 😅
