That first story had me face palming many times, especially the calling parents parts. But I guess the preface to the second story explains a lot of why things unfolded like they did in story 1. At least the person in the second story didn't do anything egregiously stupid, aside from putting their stuff on the counter I suppose. And we absolutely should criticize the police for taking 25 minutes to respond. Third story could have been entirely avoided if the friends of OP just let them stay the night? Well, temporarily anyway. They may have come to the house the following day and found the tools had been stolen. But that raises the question, why were they staking out an empty house? I can't really come up with a reason other than the intruders were originally looking for a place to squat or something. It's not like that toolbox was out in the open, it would've looked like a barren house to them.

The girl in the second story I became paranoid about people breaking into my house when I started living on my own and my step dad one time made a joke saying that I could have been robbed because he had been there for 2 hours and I did not know. How did I solve it I acquired a gun

I sympathize with the person in the last story with their father But a story about the time that some neighbor kids stole a hammer and then tried to get into a toolbox is not exactly a great thriller that they're going to make a Netflix movie about anytime soon and the whole story could have been summed up in about 45 seconds actually. Though I envy them if that was the most frightening experience that they've had in their life they are very lucky person.
