This is a very important informational video for all the spouses out there that can't understand why we need three shovels to maintain the walks and driveway in the winter (or cant understand why I need 9 different types of hammers or drills). Mine are slightly different models than yours, but serve the same three functions. As a fourth tool for ice chipping/scraping, I also have the trusty True Temper ice scraper. This is the special teams of tools, only needed for certain circumstances. So that makes four tools leaning against the wall on my porch at all times during the winter. Leaving a shovel-width rust stain on the concrete. The stain usually disappears by the time the next winter rolls around, just in time to create new ones. Just part of the cycle of life here in PA.

After our first winter shoveling our new large half circle driveway, we bought a good quality snow thrower, barely needed it the next few winters, and now we can't get it to start. It probably needs a new carburetor. So we are back to two basic types of shovels, one that's better for lifting snow and the second one he shows that is good for pushing/plowing snow. You need at least those 2 kinds plus a very strong metal one for breaking ice.
