Actually when the first egg was broken and the half finished baby(Arun) came out, he was furious and cursed his mother that she would become her sister Kadru's slave. But later gave a relief that her second child will free her from slavery. After this one day Kadru and Vinta bet on guessing the color of Ucchaisravas' (A multi-headed white horse which belonged to the King of Gods- Indra) tail. Kadru said black and Vinta said white as a white horse would have white tail. But on Kadru's orders her sons, the snakes, crawled onto the tail which made them look like black. Vinta lost the bet and as per condition Vinta has to become Kadru's slave. Days passed and one day the second egg hatched. From it emerged the Mighty Garud(the King of Birds). He saw his mother's slavery and wanted to free her. He went to the snakes with this request. They put in the condition that they will free Vinta if Garud can bring in the 'Amrut' (elixir of Immortality) from the gods. So, for freeing his mother Garud flies to heaven and starts to defeat the gods and he gets the Amrut. The gods go to Vishnu for help. Vishnu stops Garud and makes a deal with Garud. Garud agrees to it. Then Garud brings Amrut to the snakes and the snakes free Vinta from slavery. But just before they have the Amrut, Garud says to them that such holy elixirs should be consumed only after a bath. When they go for their bath, Indra(King of gods) comes there and takes back the Amrut to the heavens. Then starts the enmity of the snakes and Garud.

Shiva in its true essence is beyond anything..truest form of shiva is called "sadashiva"(beyond dimensions)equivalent to parabrahma the ultimate sourece of reality existence...but here the normal Shiva is effected by shani dev normal in the sense shiva whos present in the earthly planes (8th dimension)..there are two other form of shiva..shiva that exists in its complete power "para shiva" and shiva that dosnt exists at all and is beyond un existance "linga shiva"! Not only that shiva has many Manifestations..like if u take the actual form of shiva "sada shiva" you could see 5 heads..depicting his 5 manifestations..and from each manifestations arises his avatars or incarnations..(in which hanuman,bhairava,veerbadra,gulika,ashwatmma) are included..there is always the element of "leela in supreme gods tales" ..leela meaning the devine play ..either it is to teach humans and other beings something out of it or it is to manage energies of cosmos that we have no idea or is even capable of understanding!

He wrote a trilogy called The Hidden Hindu, it is actually based on the 7 Immortals of sanathana dharma and a secret 8th immortal. it has lots of twists and turns, i felt excited while reading. Try if you are interested. Also one more trilogy is on the way and 1st part is already released, the name is "The Naga Warriors". I have it but didn't started yet.

You will be surprised that according to Hindu scriptures, Shani( Saturn) has effect on rashis(zodiac sign). Every rashi get Shani effect for 2 and half year. And there are 12 rashis. If you multiply 12 rashis by 2 and half year. You get 30, which is exact value of Saturn rotation time around sun.

Puranas and Vedas and every Hindu scriptures holds the same essence of knowledge, the only difference comes in conveying the message. Vedas are much more like a philosophical talks, but Puranas convey through various plays and stories. If you read all of the Vedas , Upanishads and Puranas you will automatically realise that the knowledge is same in all scriptures but since it's not possible for most people they misunderstand Puranas

The rat story is a very interesting story. In the heavens, the abode of the gods; Indra, the king of gods, was holding court. Sages, gandharvas (celestial musicians) and gods were assembled in the court. Indra wanted to assign a mission to Krauncha, who was a gandharva. As Krauncha was summoned by Indra, the gandharva rushed forward from his seat. In the process, he accidentally stamped the foot of Sage Vamadeva. The sage, in a fit of anger, cursed the singer to turn into a rodent and roam aimlessly in the wild. As a result of the curse, Krauncha turned into a colossal mouse, and started destroying crops, vegetation, animals and also went about killing people. The desperate war waged by the giant rodent on anything and everything found on its way had its devastating consequences on the universe. People hoped for a saviour who would protect them from the destruction caused by Mushak(Rat). Once, Mushak passed through the hermitage of the Sage Parashar. Lord Ganesha was also camped at the premises and decided to put an end to the atrocities caused by him. The Lord soon gained over him in a fight. After he was subjugated and arrogance was subdued, Mushak surrendered at the feet of Lord Ganesh and begged his pardon. As Ganesh rode on the giant mouse, Mushak could not bear the heavy weight of the Lord. He begged the Lord to show mercy on him by reducing his size. Lord Ganesh mercifully consented and assumed a smaller size. Mushak felt blessed and requested the Lord to appoint him as Ganesha’s royal vehicle. Lord Ganesh granted this boon to Mushak and thus, he became his eternal companion, and his vehicle.

"Shani" or the God Shani refered to Saturn (planet). As per encient Hindu Vedas and as per encient Hindu Astronomy. In Hinduism It is said that if Shani or Saturn's strong influence phase on a person could bring bad time or unluck in that person's life. This bad time could be for a short or long period depends on his karma. The God Brihaspati (Jupiter planet) mostly has a favourable or good effects on person's life.
