Guys, keep in mind that bts are album artists. Songs have a bigger meaning depending on the album. The question of the box makes sense in the album. Songs and videos have individual meanings, but check the album where the song is every now and again

I think this song is about him being a workaholic because he never feels like he's enough so he always wants more, more chances to prove himself, more work, more fame, more sucess, more money etc. He talks about this in "arson" too. But it's also quite self-reflective because he's showing that he knows this ambition is pointless in a way and that it has a dark side, he knows it's not healthy but he still wants it, almost like an addiction. I think putting these feelings out there in these songs is a way for him to process them. Like Jin, he will go to the military soon so I'm glad he had the chance to express himself in this way before that.

The peircing isn't real, and J-Hope does have jester shoes on. In the beginning you saw a pan to another him in the video with a black jester hat. JACK IN THE BOX is his album. He connected Jack In The Box with Pandora's box for the album theme, and his name is J-Hope and the story of Pandora's Box is where he got the name, He wants to be a represenative of HOPE for BTS and for ARMY's. RM did a collaboration with Lil Nas X - Seoul Town Road. I'm not kidding either. You asked if they did a country song. that's as close to it as I know.

The band members were disfigured representations of "after effects" from being burnt. This song & mv was the first to drop from his solo album Jack In The Box (thus the clown shoes). The band members were the "hint/clue" to his next song/mv from the album that dropped called Arson. BTS makes us all play Sherlock Holmes a lot. Lol

The biggest fun of BTS is their ability to experiment and try so many genres also blending genres. In any single album you’ll never be bored yet they will have a cohesive message and story across an album. Very rare to find as dedicated and also flexible artists. The music industry should be worried as they just keep getting stronger and are pretty fearless about experimenting because mostly charts etc don’t matter staying true to Army, each other, and art does matter.

J-hope is only one of them that doesn't have any (real) piercings, not even in his ears like others. 💜 (And JK is only one that has/had piercings other than his ears.) I'm the generation that lived through 80's and 90's and I'm never going to warm up mullets - but mullets are literally "in" in Asia right now. They have been for a long time at least from 2019. And there had been artists that have wore mullets on and off for 10 or so years :/

I was reading some of the comments. Everyone has favorites and there are lots of suggestions. My suggestion is to concentrate on BTS as a group before exploring their solo activities. It's going to take you a long time to catch up with ARMY. There is so much content out there to watch and they keep dropping more. I love watching their dance practice videos (including their Halloween dance practices), but don't watch those yet. Their videos are works of art. Watch Fire, Mic Drop - Steve Aoki remix or Idol. The wheel is fun, but there is a lot missing. We need know more about your taste before recommending more. Just have fun. They are amazing.

I'm so proud of Hobi and didn't expect this at all. I'm loving the beat of this song and I love the drums and guitars and this side of our sunshine is wrecking me badly. This is a different side of hobi I thought I'd never see also I love the MV aswell and I love how his voice sounds as well as how rocky this sounds and I'm also loving this néw look on him aswell and I love how he raps. Basically words can't explain how I'm feeling right now about this song besides being bias wrecked. Hobi has set the bar so damn high for me now, Bangtan chapter 2 is already killing me now.

HLC made a great observation about his shoes. Is it relevant? Well... the other song he reacted to with the missus was Arson and they are both on his album Jack in the Box. The box in More and the shoes reference the jester or clown image of a Jack in the Box. The symbology of the Jack in the Box concept is mainly related to the Box more than clown but it does come into play. The box symbolizes both his hope origin story discussed in his Pandora's Box track plus the feeling of being pigeonholed as an artist into the confines of a box. As BTS they are expected to be pop and in the US, the bubble gum pop image of a boy band (put in a box) and as Jhope of BTS, his music is generally associated with his sunshine and hope persona (smiling jester). In the JITB album, he wanted to show other aspects of his personality and artistry and while headlining at Lollapalooza, he introduced us to a new darker persona calling himself Jay or J. You asked for country? Haha, well actually... 🤣 RM did a feature on Lil Nas X Old Town Road but his version was renamed as Seoul Town Road and like RM is apt to do, there's great wordplay on it. He also performed it live with the boys & Lil Nas X at the Grammys. Lil Nas X's live performance is worth a watch, not only for BTS, but it also features Diplo, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Nas! I recommend looking up an explanation of his lyrics and watching the live performance and reacting to both of those together.

It is Seo Taiji's song & BTS is only a collab, in 2017. Seo Taiji is considered the father of the South Korean idol industry, aka K-Pop, & there would be no BTS in existence if it wasn't for Taiji. And Seo also does many music styles, like Numetal, synth pop/rock, ballads, acoustic & symphonic, etc. And If you are looking for a US western/country style by BTS, the closest one I can think of is "Permission to Dance", although it might be closer to a Broadway musical type of style, or a mix of both.

Arson is great and fairly short. Check it out even if not as a reaction. Jack in the Box album was J-Hope showing one it his own styles. His album before that Hope World is more laid back and happy. The ENGLISH translation here is not the best. They translate FISH IN WATER as "my element" which totally lost the water flow imageries throughout the lyrics. That is just one of them. There are other translations that did better explaining the Korean context in terms of idioms, some of them like the fish and water, is one that is also familiar in English.
