My biggest tip regarding first touch, is confidence. Get a good feel for the ball before a session/match and start off simple. Controlling a side foot pass from a teammate or off the wall, and then work your way up to zippier balls. Ease yourself in.

Hey I always struggle to control the ball when sprinting towards it and the ball is flying at you at speed. I'm a wing back so it's quite important on those interceptions that I can control that ball properly. While here seems to be mostly controlling the ball while you are stationary, defenders don't get that luxury when they need to pounce to beat the attacker. Of course screwing this up means your attacker just got past you without a fight lol so it's quite important.

i have been at similiar moments, what i do is to calm down, dont rush and be natural- who know. practice doing passes off a wall which rebounds at a fast pace at a directional path where you can run to the deflected path of the ball and take a touch. get comfortablle doing that and you will definitely improve that aspect of your game. i also recommend doing kicky uppies daily, just me how natural the ball will be to you and how you perceive it will all be sharper and better. I think its because the defender you meet is newbie defender, they often just see the ball and they didnt even know that you do the feint, so they never gonna fall for it, my advice is you just need to pass the ball. Remember to use skill when you need, just keep everything simple my friend.

yoo i’ve been looking for videos but haven’t found any at all - on keeping the ball on the pitch, for example when running after it and it’s about to go off the pitch but how to manage to stretch and keep it on the pitch - like for a winger when someone gives u a too hard ball and you need to chase it and you’re close to reaching it but just about miss it. if anyone has watched videos on ways to keep the ball on please recommend 🙏🙏

You’ve gotta try and get your hips on the other side of the ball, the side where the ball looks to be going, so as to stop it from going out in the most simple way. It means running slightly past the ball sometimes

to shoot with power lock your ankles and point your toes down. strike through the ball hard and lean over the ball so you keep it on target. if you lean back while shooting the ball will go high and over the bar. hope this helped 💪🏾
