5:58 I’ve seen you do all of these techniques but the one used to create the look at this time stamp has finer edges than other methods. It just looks crisper. And it is very satisfying watching you wipe that off! Lovely video, sweetie. Warm wishes from Minnesota! ❤️❤️❤️

do the particles from the chrome stick to your top coat brush in the end video? Just wondering if it's best to use a disposable one. thanks! :)

I often use your third method for detailed chrome-powder striping, especially on the smile-line over white French tips. But there's an easy way to achieve beautiful chrome-powdered tips for people like me who struggle with hand-painted French Tips and designs (especially on the non-dominant hand!), and who particularly want a glossy top coat .. and that's using the stick-on French Tip Guides! If you haven't used them, these are tip-shaped, waxed-paper stick-on tip guides that are very inexpensive, easy to use, and are available from any online like TEMU &/or beauty/nail-art stores. They usually come in packs of 10 sheets with 3 different shape tips. Here's my method: 1. After applying and curing the glossy top coat, use tweezers to peel the paper French Tip Guides from the sheet and place on your nails -- ensure they are straight and stuck down really well, especially along the leading edge so you don't have any lifting (otherwise the powder will get stuck under here .. not what you want).. 2. Using a silicone tool or make-up applicator, apply the chrome powder to the exposed tips of your nails ONLY, ensuring that you don't get any on the other side of the French Tip Guides (I use a dedicated silicone tool for this process) - but be careful not to force any of the Chrome Powder under the sticker. Ensure that tips are well-burnished. 3. Remove the French Tip Guides very carefully with the tweezers. Check the smile-line, and if you're not happy with it you can carefully remove any bits with a fine brush barely moistened with acetone (nail polish remover) or use an alcohol wipe and just take the whole of the chromed tip off and start again with a new tip guide. 4. Now you CAN just apply the top coat and be finished, but this risks getting chrome powder all over your brush and contaminating you whole bottle of top coat - and that's fine if you just want to keep that one bottle of top coat only for using with chrome powders. I prefer to do the entire nail with a BASE COAT and cure for 60 seconds FIRST - and I do this for two very good reasons: 1) The chrome powders don't stick to the brush of your base coat the way it sticks to the top coat brush, and 2) the base coat gives an adhesion layer for your final top coat to stick to. By doing this step, I never have any chipping or lifting, and my manis always last 4-5 weeks! I hope that non-artists like me will try this method, because if done carefully and well it is very fast and effective. It saves a ton of frustration too - and there's no cleaning of pallets or brushes!.

These all look so beautiful!😊 I'm curious to know, for the last look, why do you have to apply a shiny top coat, only to buff it right off? Couldn't a matte top coat work instead?
@cassandrap.3183Ай бұрын
A matte topcoat wouldn’t work because it still creates a smooth surface.

So you HAVE to use a matte top coat for “any” chrome to stick to it?
@DANiCL4WSКүн бұрын
chrome doesn't stick to matte, that's why she uses it for that part. chrome will only stick to a no wipe top coat, cured only for 15-30 seconds! ❤

What can I use if I don’t have the no wipe coat?
@GabbyAngelique2 ай бұрын
No wipe gel color! But I think it’s worth getting a no wipe top coat! They are usually around $6/7 on Amazon

what if I don’t have a no wipe top coat? does it still work with a normal one?
@linafranke132 ай бұрын
I tried a normal one once, I wiped it as usual and applied the chrome powder. It did kinda work but it was not perfect, there were small spots where the chrome didn’t stick..

If you dont want a matte finish on the rest of the nail can you just reput the top coat over it to make it glossy?
