I did my research and was torn between several. Have my own gopro3 and bought a hero9 for work of course limited now but still do amazing work but mine is now relegated to salt water tyre shots and top of van because I got this amazing DJI combo for Christmas!!! Even though I saw many reviews I weighed the pros and cons in my research, watching everyone using multiple devices in their productions and this one stood out... and I have a dji drone too and the robustness is amazing. After watching for this long, I thought Gopro has been resting on their laurels and falling behind so I am now team DJI... but time will tell as anything does with a business.

🔻I really like it more than the Go pro 12, 11 or 13 .. It's much, much better specially in low light ✨️ But sadly i don't have the money to buy either of them 😕 😅

Great content Dan, I just returned to Adelaide from Nepal. I took my Sony A6700 and A7IV but just walking around I mainly used the DJI pocket 3 and GoPro 11 and insta 360 4x. I almost pulled the trigger on the Osmo 5 Pro when we had a stop over in Singapore...... I think if I bought another camera wife would have left me in Nepal hahaha. I'll pick one up if they go on a boxing day sale, anyway mate thanx for the awesome info. Hope you and your family all the best for new years.

It’s a great little action camera. I use mine mainly for Mountain Biking and consider it a great upgrade from my GoPro Hero 11 camera.

Great review. What I don't understand. Why do some people upload in 4:3 ratio instead of full screen 16:9. Is there a reason?

The 4:3 format commonly refers to computer and TV screens. When you record an image or motion picture and then display it on a screen with the same aspect ratio, you'll be able to fill the entire screen without losing any information or having to crop the image.

DJI wins it with battery life tho, with my GoPro HB 13 I can shoot on like estimated 2 hours, highest settings 1 hour and a bit. Which settings did you use for filming 4 hours with one battery? I want to buy a second action camera, but I want to test out the DJI also.

im sony camera user thinking about a first action cam but honestly the image qualities seem dubious and especially the color science like the sky etc seem terrible by comparison to a mirrorless

Hi. Greetings from Germany. This cam is very cool. I also have this combo. The features are very nice. But the cage is disappointing, because you have to remove the camera to change the battery! That's absolutely not nice, and does not fit this device! So to perfect the camera you have to buy another one. The supplied cage deteriorates the camera again.

I sold my Hero 12 as well, bought the Action 5 and I’m blown away. I feel more comfortable now knowing that whatever I’m shooting I’m going to capture without the camera freezing or overheating and the battery. Life is fantastic as well.👍

With such low bitrate U can even shoot up to 6 howers 😂 I love DJI but OA5 is DISAPPOINTMENT. I've never seen so many negative reviews for any other action camera. Happy Christmas.

This issue has been resolved in a firmware update. I’ve been happy with the action camera.
