Wow, this was FUN to watch! It is speaking to me right on target because I am in a plateau at this time and it is time to regroup and make one new change that will put me on the next path. I am discovering that I am really patient about this because a plateau is not recidivism - I am not regaining any weight and I have not stopped doing the one thing so far that has led to my months-long success which is tracking my food and practicing portion control. I simply know that the plateau is a signal that I can make just one tweak to incorporate something not yet done that will move the needle on my ongoing progress. And I am not measuring progress by the calendar. Since this is lifelong, what difference does it make if it takes me, say, a year or two years, because I am not demotivated at plateaus. I am doing portion control for life, and wanting to. And now I am walking, counting steps, just now one day a week and I add a minute on to the next walk. This is really enjoyable and I am keenly motivated for my next outing. I have banished hunger as a necessary state, and without even knowing it, I have banished frustration, too. 11 months ago, I weighed 20 lbs more than I do now - if someone gave me the choice then and said "you can be 20 lbs down in 2 months and resenting how you do it, or you can be 20 lbs down in 11 months and be in a good mood the entire way", guess what I would have done. Well, that is what I did do, I can do it and keep doing it and it was Coach Viva who outlined that choice for me, and continues to do so. The last 10 lbs to lose are in my sights. Thank you so much!

@Coach Viva I recently stumbled upon your channel and watched some really insightful videos you posted. To be blunt, I was struck by how good your content was when the (earlier) audio quality wasn’t especially great. Still I really appreciated your logical approach and the details you explore in your process, so I subscribed. And today I see this much newer video you posted and I have to say WOW you are really advancing your audio and editing techniques! Hats off to you on the design, flow, and of course the ideas. You’re brilliant! Not only have you helped me rethink some of my own approaches to weight loss, you are also helping me better understand the value of logical, linear thinking in new ways. While other “scientific” approaches seem to ignore the emotional and intuitive aspects, I love to see how you beautifully consider our human complexities and bring us back to practical and proven strategies. Ok, I love this video so much that I just watched it a second time! It’s got such a campy, fun yet fresh vibe that not only am I taking all your suggestions, I want to hang out with you! So let me comment more and help your algorithm 😊 Here’s what I liked the best: + The reassurance that yes, any approach can work, + The reality that some of the behaviors are about psychological issues with our relationship with food, + The practical strategy to write down BEFORE, during, and AFTER any slip ups (most people say to track only what you were doing during but that’s not as comprehensive), + The whole police chase theme because it’s so unexpected in a weight loss video and totally fun, and + The old film style of subdued video flashbacks which was a really cool affect. I’m hoping this video goes viral for you because you deserve it. Thank you, again!

Thank you so much for sharing this information! I've been struggling with my weight for years now, and it wasn't until I started following your advice that I started to lose weight and feel good while doing it. I'd usually fail by the third week max, but I'm one month in now and feeling better than ever! Truely, thank you so much.

You are not just smart, you are a very conscious person. The issue is, most people are nowhere near this conscious. They can't ask themselves about these patterns, they don't notice them, they have no idea. I am not trying to lose weight, in fact, I should gain.. but if I substitue weightloss --> healing (which I am doing) in your video and think about the labyrinth of healing modalities AND recommended diets, it still makes sense to me and I totally agree.

Hey coach! Quick question: I like doing an infrared sauna bag several times a week and I hear it can burn a lot of calories. I'm not doing it for calorie burn but I am concerned that if it does burn calories, how many, because I don't want to overdo my routine and be under for my calories for the day. Do you know how many calories a 40 minute session ACTUALLY burns vs the claims?

Wow 40 mins seems a long time. I use the sauna too and had researched that 10-20 mins was ideal. Not sure about calories or what’s best for you but I do find it’s enhanced my overall health (I’m less sensitive to fluctuations in atmospheric temperature and I feel like it’s strengthened my overall immune system). Have you spoken to your doctor?

I'm an endomorph and I want to become a mesomorph. My biggest insecurity is my legs and bum, my waist is small but my lower body just isn't losing any fat. I workout 6 times a week, in a caloric deficit but my legs feel like they're getting bigger 😭😭😭😭 I don't know what I'm doing wrong😭
