Have been driving BMWs since 2005. in the meantime, over 11 cars. My daily-driver is the 2021 X3 30e which has the 2 liter engine, accelerates however like a Rocket. I test drove the Mercedes GLC before deciding to stay with BMW. The Mercedes was all plastic inside. All the metal-looking bits are plastic. In BMW, they’re all metal. The overall finish in BMW is vastly superior. The onboard systems, the I-Drive for example, is the best in any car. Great vid bro 👍

I've been considering the 2025 X5 M60i. I've heard some bad things about the N63 v8 engine at least up to the 2017 engines. I've been researching the newer 2023,24, and 25 N63 v8's and here is what I've found so far. They reccomend oil changes every 5000 miles, inspect the turbocharger for oil and water leaks and blueing and the cooling system for leaks everytime you do an oil change. Just reading that it seems like BMW has NOT resolved the issues with the N63 v8 engine. I want reliability and a vehicle that does not overheat or lose oil even if it idles in 90 degree weather for hours.

Nice vid. I had an x5 yrs ago and became a money pit w 75k miles on it. Let’s cut to chase here. I’d like to fall in love w x5 again. Seems nice. Is this car a perfect suv if you lease and flip it every 2-3 years and forget owning for many or no? Everyone knows bmws are great when new but once you hit 50k miles it seems like someone in Germany presses a button and car starts leaking oil. Major expensive repairs are needed etc. is this still the case here now? Thanks

That’s exactly how it happened with my 2019 X5. Right after the warranty was over and I hit the 50K miles, the transfer case and the starter failed. I would recommend to choose leasing for the prospective buyers.

@@Hilmi-uz4ft So many people I know who have BMW’s have said exact same thing even still. Not sure how/why CR and other publications give the X5 their top midsize luxury SUV award. I dont get it. Bought and paid for reviews? Agree, if leasing the car who cares right, trade it in after 2-3 years, get a new one. I just dont want the headaches again or the expense. It’s strange but I’m still researching on the 2024/25 X5 long term reliability reports. I want to hear from people who actually have 50+k miles on theirs and get some feedback. I wish BMW would hire people from Lexus to build and get the parts from. BMW can keep their engines and suspension platforms but everything else, turn it over to Lexus for long term reliability.

I've owned two 2025 X-5s M Sport within a month of each other. Traded-in the first with 150 miles, and took a $5K haircut doing so on the purchase of number two 2025 X-5. The reason being seat comfort, the first had ventilated seats, and that alone made for the trade in. The ventilated seats are horribly designed to retain BMW's legendary seat comfort, it's believed the ventilation motors as well as the fabric's thickness contribute to the seats' wooden bus bench characteristics. You are well advised to forgo this option. As for the fabric, it is believed that he presenter's leather comments are incorrect, rather Sensafin is a man-made BMW material, and interestingly its different colors vary the fabric's drape and softness. For example the first X-5's interior material was Cognac and in comparison to the second X-5's Silverstone it was stiff and and unyielding to the touch. As for BMW's control interfaces, the thought of flashy confusion comes to mind. The 2025 X-5 were not the first X-5s I've owned, driving both a 2008 and 2016 M sport versions bought new and driven close to 100,000 miles. The engine and transmissions mating response of all years exceptional. The choice of exterior color change for the better from Alpine White to Dravit Grey Metallic and lesson here is to go darker.
@abell2555 ай бұрын
You are NOT wrong on the seats! I have a 2024 with ventilation and WOW, they are borderline rock solid. The bolstering on the bottom cushion combined with the hard surface makes for a terrible seat....I despise mine after the first 2k miles.

Is there a reason that now BMW USA doesn’t provide FULL adaptive LED lights in the US with all the new LCI models? Another thing that BMW eliminated for the US. There is no swiveling function (curve adapt). This means, when you turn your steering wheel to the left or right, the lights don’t turn to the bend. You would think each year it should get better and not worse. Why did they remove the BMW “M” clip from the rear calipers? No rear door comfort access? No rear door puddle lights? Seriously?

@@pepposano4200personally, I like the styling on the x5 much better, but you will also see a lot of them on the road. Either way, it’s,a fantastic car. I have a ‘24 with the six and it’s awesome.

I own a 2021 tesla model y and a 2022 BMW x5 M40I. Coming from the tesla, the BMW speakers are just horrible. They don’t even compare to my 2012 Honda odyssey’s speakers.

Not sure if I'm a fan of the new DRLs, found the old design still pretty timeless. And those dual screens, what a travesty. Those original 8 shortcut buttons were what made iDrive 7 iconic. Makes the user interface more difficult to interact with.

I traded my 2021 X5 for a 2024 and was little skeptical about the large screen and I drive 8, I’ve gotta say there’s a quick learning curve and I don’t miss all the buttons. Everything you use all the time like climate and media is easily accessible and the boost in HP and torque more than makes up for it. Only problem is it’s so fast and quiet you have to watch your speed!

I agree. iDrive8 is an abomination. The 8 shortcut buttons are gone. Climate control buttons are gone. Heated seats and ventilated seats are now have to be turned on / off in software. Manual turning on of low beam headlights and PARKING LIGHTS are in iDrive. Was the turn-style headlight switch too complicated, for BMW? Even the HEATED STEERING WHEEL BUTTON is gone. Won't buy another BMW until BMW undoes iDrive 8 buttonless stupidity.
