Have to say, I am EXTREMELY impressed with the crossing.... Big bikes have both an advantage and a disadvantage in sand but then to do it fully loaded (and I mean fully loaded)... WOW.... Hats of to you......

Go for it, we set out to do it on our own. The other guys joined us in the end but would have no issues knowing they were not behind us would do it again tomorrow. Best trip I've done to date.

Just because the big bikes carried there own stuff does not make it an UNSUPPORTED RIDE...When you have a 4wd and other motorcycles involved its very much a supported ride. I met a guy riding his bicycle across the Simpson Desert with no other assistance , now THAT is UNSUPPORTED

good video mate and congrats on completing it on a 1090. Ive owned a couple of 1090"s but planning to ride it with an 890 this year. Just wondering what tyres you used through the desert and what mode were you in and traction on or off cheers

Sorry about the late reply, I ran Desert HT MOTO OZ tyres front and back not one flat. Will be doing it again this year on the new 690, running the same tyres.

The camera is all sorted now, going again this year weather permitting, on the new 690.
