Real clean setup for kayaks. I’m getting ready to do the same to a 4x7 Lowe’s trailer to accommodate 1-2 Hobie fishing yaks w/ removable rail supports, when using trailer for dirt bikes, etc.

Thank you. I hope you have fun building and using your Lowe's kayak trailer. We sure did!.

Nice video! Have you had any problem where the bolts get loose due to vibration?
@TroysHobbies Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I check them when it comes out of winter storage. I've never found a loose bolt.

@@TroysHobbies Cool! Did you use split ring washers? I am building my trailer now and wonder if I should use them at places where I cannot put in nylock nuts.

Did you upgrade the wheel bearings to marine grade as well as the light kits?

Just bought a predator. Was hoping to load it on a truck rack but too heavy. I think this trailer is just right and can't beat the price. Thanks

I watch RX Angler too (Nick). His buddy, Mark of MDLR has that micro skiff. It cost $14K after set up he has. Great review of your DIY trailer. I think I might make one for a single kayak on one side and a lockable equipment box on the other.

Much appreciated. I'm a fan of RX Angler.

How much did the trailer setup cost you in the end? I'm interesting in building the same setup for two of the OT Sportsman 106 models. Thanks
@TroysHobbies Жыл бұрын
Sorry but I don't have a total cost. The videos were after thoughts. I don't think anyone would be interested in it.

This is pretty close to what I want to build for my pair of kayaks. One of them is the Pro Angler 14, do you think the trailer and tongue is long enough for that? That's probably my biggest concern. My local HF still doesn't have these in stock. Is yours the heavy duty version? Thank you very much for sharing this build, nicely done.

Order it online and have it delivered to your closest HF.

How long are your kayaks. I have 2 that are 10ft 6 inches and didn’t know if the trailer would be long enough

Does it bounce much when towing? Take it on any longer trips? I have a Hobie PA 12 that I am considering building a trailer like this for. Thanks!
@TroysHobbies3 жыл бұрын
I do not have any bounce issues. That's why I used plywood for the weight.

Do you dry drop? Or back up in the water
@TroysHobbies3 жыл бұрын
The last few years I've been backing down into the water.

Did u mod the lights, wiring etc?
@TroysHobbies3 жыл бұрын
They are aftermarket LED lights. I didn't even cut the wires to shorten them. I might put an extended tongue on it.
