And even if he did, aren't advanced ninja capable of protecting their secrets like professionals? Are professional ninja unable to keep information hidden from enemies when they entrusted it to a three-year-old child? No. Kishimoto wanted to make Naruto such a tragic character that he introduced absurdities into his world and ruined the characters around Naruto just to achieve his goal. This is Kishimoto's poor writing, not a situation justified within the story.

Keep in mind that Danzo was the one that made the villagers have animosity towards him after Kurama attacked the village. If you think about it closely, Danzo is solely responsible for not only ruining Naruto's childhood but Sasuke's as well. So how DID Naruto not grow up to be the bad guy, like for real. The old man who was asked to take care of him and swore he would, just didn’t. Like he put a toddler in a studio apartment, alone, and gave him a monthly allowance, and when that toddler asked why he was alone, the old man responds, “I don’t know, sucks to be you I guess” and leaves. The old man also only tells the village, this boy has a demon in him, but no one say anything. Never elaborates that it was a sacrifice his parents paid and a burden they put upon their newborn son. No one treats him like a child, they treat him like the plague, they don’t even talk behind his back quietly, Naruto always hears them talking shit. Like…for real, how did he not become the bad guy the audience roots for. Like yeah, burn that village to the ground kid, and then go find an orphanage or a nice young couple looking to adopt, it can’t be that hard. Hell, Haku was adopted by Zabuza, and he was a demonic murder machine that still loved the kid though!
