it's very nice to watch this because he is not just a very talented boy, but he also enjoys it too and chooses to play himself. He isn't forced by his parents to practice... it's just nice

I love the boy picking his nose at the end of his playing. My son (same age) just does the nose picking. LOL. So sweet he plays for his parents to dance. What a sweet boy with such a talent. Good luck!

yes, encourage the children!!! I'm so thankful for being around parents who were musical, and although they never pushed or much encouraged me, I was able to pick up just enough to play music by ear and I was a prolific composer for a time. ENCOURAGE THEM!!

I think the mother is wonderful! What a great idea to use colors to teach her son the notes, and to let him push himself rather than forcing him to practice. I think he will love the piano for many years to come. Brilliant!

What an Amazing Mother to Incorporate Colors with Musical Notes to Learn the Piano... I Need Her in My Life!!💕🥰💕

I liked that she said he just does it on his own, no pushing from parents. Obviously she is helping him but she's not pushing him to practice, practice, practice and that is why the performance was so real and endearing. This showed when he was looking at something in the audience and lost tempo for a second--totally a 3 year old thing to do, he wasn't drilled and drilled and drilled. This is great!

I, too, was very talented when I was a child, I even was composing my own music. I started to take piano lessons late, when I was 12 years old, and when I was 15 it was over. I had only one parent who couldn't afford educating me and who was not in music. This kid's mother is very smart. Big bravo for her. I hope Richard will realize that and be very grateful to her one day. I am back to the piano now but I am already old.It is difficult to learn but I love it.

there's a boy, who's gifted. by just listening he'll learn any music. just give him minutes or hours to learn it by himself. He came from a poor family, just one time someone donated a piano in their school.

Why do you have to add colours to the piano? This is why asians get stereotyped.
@vstavropoulos55412 жыл бұрын
I started playing piano at one using a very similar method. My mom taught me the notes of the piano, instead of with colors, with the alphabet. I learned to read sheet music at the same time as books and learned the letters a-g with "sharp" and "flat" in between at first so I could then point out the different notes later that day. Based on this personal experience, I have to say, the color trick is GENIUS! Seeing that it seems easier, that is definitely how I'll teach my child. Btw, Richard is

This kid is doing really well! I'm in my 6th year of piano but haven't taken it seriously until a few months ago. Still, I realize how hard it can seem to play pieces perfectly in front of a big audience. I think that color coordinating piano keys is a really good idea, because my problem when I was little was counting from middle C and thinking, "Okay, that's A sharp!" It's much easier to make the connection of orange-orange.

Wonderful music and very inspiring! Through out history child prodigies have always annoyed and made some people fiercely jealous - now is no different! LOL As a fellow musician, I just say vive la différence - cheers to music and all the variety of people that contribute to it! This little man has a great future and a great mum. Matt

He's a talented young child with dedicated, caring parents who are not interested in "instant gratification" but in a long life of caring and satisfaction. Race has nothing to do with it. It's dedication, fun with a project and involved parents!. You're never too young nor too old to learn something new. Give it a shot with as much dedication and less social media as he has.

I first learned to play with colored notes and a strip that went behind the keys with corresponding colors. I've been trying to find those books, but haven't seen them. I'm 44, so this is an idea that's been around. He's taken it to a higher level, though. Good job!

Ok. A few things to say. First: WOW. I'm 12 years old. I play piano. I'm learning Canon and Moonlight Sonata, and even though those songs are WAY better than him doing a simple chorus, you have to remember: He's 3. I'm not entirely sure that I was able to WALK at 3, much less even playing ANY notes on ANY Piano, with or without the "Rainbow Method"! Second: I encourage this young man to keep playing the piano and learning for a long time; it is a beautiful instrument and he handles it. Bravo!
