I was hit by a drunk driver when I was standing outside my car back in 2011. One thing that is terribly disturbing is how anyone involved in any part of your accident or recovery makes notes or reports about you and your actions and can try to twist any bit of that to use against you in either a negotiation outside of court, as we had to do as I still wasn't well enough to sit for a few hours of court let alone the week of full court days expected when we legally had to process the case in my state 3 years later, or in court. An example of this is how my senior mother was there at the scene next to me while our friends were literally standing 15 feet away in their doorway with their young children looking on so I had tried to downplay my pain (I was in shock, too, as my injuries didn't kick in until we were both waiting for the police to arrive, I had spoken to people driving towards us at the time I was hit and they came back to the scene to help, and I was suddenly left with nothing to do but stand there and keep waiting for someone from our insurance company to come on the 800 line on a Saturday evening...and next thing I knew I was flat on my back on the ground and in extreme pain), tried to smile at them like I was more OK than not as I was being put on the stretcher of the ambulance, etc. But my trying to hide how bad off I was for my stressed mother and the young children who see our torn up car and me being taken off in an ambulance was misconstrued by the paramedics treating me and was totally tried to be used as evidence that I wasn't badly hurt in the accident by the other lawyers in our negotiations and in the deposition beforehand. So be prepared for those horrible realities AND that your own insurance company ISN'T your "great neighbor" there to help, but are also trying to pay as little as they possibly can to provide the help you've paid towards for years...oh, and they will raise your rates afterwards, even when it was YOU and your vehicle hit by the drunk driver at not even 6PM on a gorgeous April day and there is absolutely no way they could say you and your parked vehicle on a large city street could have been the least at fault for you being hit from behind.

It was good to see that the cop was nice and helpful also, unlike a lot of cops that act like they can't be bothered or are just hateful and rude cause they don't believe in your cause , helping families find their love ones and cleaning the cars out of the waterways. Keep on diving!

I turn on captions a lot. Sometimes the botched translations are crazy hilarious. Some of the funniest are serious courtroom proceedings when something totally off-the-wall comes out. One was a judge announcing a recess & how long until they'd reconvene. It came out something about drinking cocktails for 30 minutes. I can't remember exactly, just that it had me cracking up.

Hey Boys. When you call 911, this is what we need to know: 1) is it an emergency? 2) address of where the incident is taking place or took place;your name, phone number; what happened or what is happening and then answer their questions. I.e. "911, what are you reporting?" "Hi my name is J.Q. Public, this is not an emergency. I'm reporting a vehicle in the water in the Big River at the Bubba Gump Parkon boat launch. We dove it and it looks like it has been down there awhile. It appears to be a Jeep Cherokee and nobody is in it. Could you send an officer this way?". And that is probably all they need. Makes sure they know it is not an emergency! Well done on the Jeep today! Glad you are still out there even without a wrecker!!❤❤

I think they use the non emergency line when reporting a find to law enforcement.

@@donnasheraden3881 yes, if there is one. Many places send all the calls to central 911 if it requires a call for service (someone to be on scene or if someone is waiting for a LEO). That way one place can keep track of all officers, etc. if an officer goes down or something happens. Of course, now that I have said that, the way things are done will change again. 🤣
