Saving and Loading is so much more complicated than most make it out to be. I spent about a week just trying to work it out. I started with this kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2SapX-bib-oncU and made changes from there. I also used Ryan's video on inventories when I was first making one and remember it being very helpful. With your apple issue, I think you're using a line trace, you could try a sphere trace but you might still have offset text.
