$1500 for the HD800 and an equal amount for the rest of the system is not that much money if you're really into listening to music.. it's a lower class worker's salary. I'm definitely getting one this year or the next. Everyone buy premium stuff related to their hobbies and passions.. you don't need to be rich to enjoy life.

Connor Hoban yeah i totally agree with you i own a pair of hd 558s and i can say that beats will never be that good sennheiser is a pionners among headphone manufacturers
@dischorddubstep946610 жыл бұрын
I wont go so far as to say sennheiser is a pioneer among manufacturers. They are one of the many pioneers of the audio industry, and are up there with the likes of AKG, Beyerdynamic, Hifiman, Fostex etc. Really, if you are looking at audiophile headphones, they are all great, but they have different sound signatures. Akg is very analytical, sennheiser for the 5XX and 6XX series are laid back, warm, and pleasant but still pretty detailed, hifiman is generally bassy yet still detailed... Fostex? You can mod the crap out of the T50RP's or leave them alone. Then Beyerdynamic depends heavily on what model you buy and impedance model you buy, point is, in the world of high end audio from experienced companies, you can't really go wrong. Find the headphones with the sound you like the most and enjoy. I myself prefer akg over sennheiser, but in no way does this make akg better. Its just my opinion. Anywho, have fun guys with your journey! Sennheiser is a great company, and just them commenting like this on videos says something good about their customer devotion. :)

SurkasFly I know this comment is old but When my iphone earphones broke i bought Sennheiser MX365 earphones and because they were playing at such a high quality compared to what I was used to (I found out this isn't even high quality to some people) that I was forced to delete some songs and find a higher quality version of them, The background sound is garbled static on the MX365s that I didn't notice before on those over expensive apple earphones... So no it isn't the 'Dumbest shit ever' it's actually true.
@ScoopexUs10 жыл бұрын
If I had these I'd sell them and buy a high-end sportscar + cheaper good ones :D I'd probably listen to Badalamenti, Marsalis, Jarrett, or modern classic arrangements of Jarre or Vangelis, or (unprocessed) vocal greats. Concerts and performances recorded directly from analog (i.e. no Digitally Remastered releases) are best used to gauge dynamics range, which is what you *should* want in a set of speakers or headphones. But bass-boosted closed headphones sell better, especially ones with cool design! The trick with all expensive audio products (including expensive stereos, amps, speakers) is finding songs that were mixed on superior equipment, so basically any song older than 5 years is right out. Right? And all the songs made since will have been mixed on digital equipment, so anything analog before the actual speakers or headphones will just transform the actually recorded sound. So really, any quality difference to a listener is only in the final DAC and amp. Analog sound processors will interfere. So really, to get the most of the best listening equipment, you're really back to synthesized test signal and response charts to know that it sounds good ;) Of course even if it's digital, it can't be lossy-compressed. So certainly, you can't test any audio equipment quality with "mp3s". Which probably excludes most of your song collection anyway! So it's all a bit silly. But if you don't pay for design but sound quality for the music you listen to, and you pay more than $150, you'll probably get something decent. You wanted a song. For open headphones, I'd get closer to vocal performances, so Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring from Sarah Brightman's A Winter Symphony to pick one.

Probably 9 million bicycles in Beijing by Katie Melua. Smooth acoustic music with lots of guitars, strings, acoustic drumkits and upright bass.

Orpheus for sure. I would probably play something off of the BBC Sessions by Led Zeppelin. I'd probably go with the longest version of Dazed and Confused on that album. It's probably be the closest thing to actually hearing them live.

Indeed, also just the way the song's mixed goes reaaally well. Which reminds me Led Zeppelin IV turns 45 tomorrow so that would be a good opportunity to hear it with these.

Jimmy Chan Views are NOT an indication of quality. Gangnam Style has over a billion views there for, according to your logic, it is one of the best songs ever made.

***** I have all mine in AIFF, same thing really, just allows more metadata. I can have my artwork attached to the files. Still only 44.1/16 from CDs. Blu-ray Audio 96/24 would be good if I can import it into iTunes natively and use on all my devices. I think iTunes supports high res audio, but IOS devices do not.
@QuickSniper1610 жыл бұрын
***** Nah you should try 320, FLAC, or apple loseless.
@MrChevypower10 жыл бұрын
QuickSniper16 320 sucks, FLAC and Apple Lossless have limited compatibility. That's why I went AIFF, otherwise I would have put up with WAV without the artwork attached.
@QuickSniper1610 жыл бұрын
MrChevypower Only an audiophile could say 320 sucks. FLAC is only good for burned CD's. I find loseless the best overall as it is digital.

Tube amp doesn't make a system completely analog. An amp is analog whether it's a tube amp or solid state. A dac always handles digital signal before an amplifier unless you are using a turntable.

Wireless? Dumbass....
@connorskudlarek311910 жыл бұрын
Jame Gumb It doesn't make hom a dumbass. Built in amp with superb wireless might be something worth getting for $30k in his opinion. Personally, I think paying anything more than $100 is unnecessary with wireless. And paying anything more than $500 (headphones only) is unnecessary with wired. But that's just my opinion, and I'm no audiophile. Been using Apple Buds and dollar store stuff, but I just ordered the Audio-Technica M50x with a FiiO E6 so I'll see how that is in a few days.
