We’re long past the days of ‘old game outdated’. Consoles are more PC like than ever, and completely scalable, and all of the games here are running with current gen upgrades. Meaning you can’t play at those specs on last gen hardware. Unless people really want to go back to the dark ages of zero backwards compatibility, we really need to have an updated take on these things.

Naughty Dog put out the first 3 Uncharted games in 8 years. In the most recent 8 year cycle they’ve put out 2 games that both told rambling stories with inconsistent characterization and gun play that’s reminiscent of 2008. The fall of Naughty Dog is probably the biggest loss to the industry in a decade riddled with big name losses.

As someone who did enjoy TLOU (mostly 1) when they launched, putting the remasters on this list is just dumb. For years, Naughty Dog is just rehashing the same game with "improved graphics". It's totally the mentality of PS5 vs PS5 PRO. And guess what, they are remastering The Last of Us 2, a 4 year old game. The irony writes itself.

God of War Ragnarok will always be a weird one to me. On the one hand, I love the environments, combat, and boss battles. On the other, I hated the meandering story, how they handled Thor and who they cast for Heimdall and Odin and that I was forced to play as the annoying kid. For the first time in 8 GoW games, I don't get to play Kratos from start to finish. I had to play discount Sora. It almost ruined the game for me. Now, I just think the game was meh. If they add the option to chapter select and skip through cut scenes, it might improve the game but I probably won't play it ever again anyway. SBI has their hands all over it.

I felt the same way, wish Thor had lived to help rebuild afterwards, wish Odin wasn't such a scummy turd lol, Heimdall didn't have to be such an ass and Atreus missions were kinda boring, overall it's a great game full of action and stories of the past, but some of it was questionable.
