Those "flat" baskets are paper plate holders. They were everywhere in the 80s and 90s. They were made for the white paper plates that have "ruffled" edges - since those plates are so thin, the "basket" would give more strength so your food didn't fall off at family gatherings or parties.

We used the dickens out of those things at my house growing up, especially in the summer when we were all home from school.

I can't pass up white swirl plates either. I have 3 complete sets of white china. I had 4 but donated 1 set because I had no room. They were accumulated a few at a time. Now I see I can use them in the back of my bookcase. Your decorating is to die for! I use old books for risers, but now will add my white plates too. I have way too many pieces of white ironstone too, which I like mixed with silverplate flatware & baskets & white taper candles. Thank you for this post!

I like putting those paper plate baskets under my potted houseplants, but I have the clear plastic plant saucers on top of them too bc the baskets won’t stop the water from damaging my tables. These are really great ideas and have gotten me thinking about what else I can use.

In addition for you having an “EYE “ to group found objects in an interesting vignette, you understand the concept of space, balance and texture in a fresh take. A lot of creators, even if maximalists take 20 objects and ram them across a shelf and when they are done they have an overcrowded and out of balance mishmash. While you also fill your cupboard to the brim you compose it in such a way the viewer is on a scavenger hunt ( in a good way) to not be amiss on all the synergy that comes from your composition in not wanting to miss even the littlest DETAIL.

I'm so impressed with your thrift hauls and how you use them in your home. That said, I have never been to a thrift store with bins full of great, cheap items. Not once, ever. My local Goodwills and thrift stores are terrible! I will find a neat item now and then, but no big hauls. More of a small plastic bag haul. Im so envious, and i just watch in awe! I love your videos and they inspire me to keep my eyes open for treasures!

I stack books and wooden carved boxes of the same size, the wood and paper looks amazing together, I love iron so I have iron statues on top of them. I also have an apothecary jar with shells on a stack and a deer antler.

I have a dish problem, long before I became a reseller! I love dishes, I have many dishes that I use through the seasons including a Pfaltzgraff Heritage collection, all thrifted, every single piece. Over 50 pieces. I put pitchers and some lidded pieces in the living room, not so much plates but I’m reconsidering it now. I do put tea/coffee services in a tray in my guest bedroom with fake muffins. I love decorating sooooo much especially with thrifted or clearance finds!

I do have a kitchen item in my livingroom. I scored a vintage Hoosier cabinet on FB Marketplace, and I put it in my livingroom. It holds all of my kitchen countertop appliances. I had no room for it in my kitchen or dining area, but I love it where it is.
