Dude. Awesome looking reactors. The cracks were in a sense a godsend made you add the urethane now the tops are as strong as the whole reactor and they look good with the krylon fusion another excellent choice for paint. It definitely doesn't get any better than that for $30.

Were the tops of the lids acrylic on the pasta jars. If so if you put them in boiling water first before drilling them they will not split because it makes them more pliable so less brittle. I was drilling some small holes into an acrylic box which I was turning into a overflow box and I had that problem but I guy KZbin gave me this tip and it works perfectly. Great video thanks.👍🏻

Nice job on the build, but polyurethane and epoxy are two different things, poly comes pre mixed ready to use as a clear coat on mostly wood as it dries somewhat soft and flexible where as 2 part epoxy consists of resin and hardener and can be used for numerous things due to it's abrasion resistancy and hardness. Unless you've made something I don't know of that looked like 2 part epoxy

I can’t recall what it was called but was a 2 part that hardened into a pretty ridges plastic type material

Bro-- I have looked HIGH and low for these or similar containers and cannot find them ANYWHERE. Please point me in the right direction. I can't find them anywhere! Help!

+Dev R thanks so much for the reply, man. You're absolutely right. I'm going to pick up some of the glass ones with the brushed aluminum screw tops and sand them, then give them a nice coat of paint and add silicone and maybe seal them with an epoxy. If you want to connect, I can let you know how it goes. Should be easy enough to drill through and seal up.

+Alejandro Estrada I found them at a local dollar store. Just look for a glass container with a plastics lid. You could get a diamond hole saw and still a glass lid but a plastic lid makes it simpler

Which dollar store???? I’ve been looking for for full plastic top glass jars at sooooo many dollar stores in B.C. and come up dry, most are just plastic threaded metal so it would be exposed to the water.
@ReefDudes
@ReefDudes 6 жыл бұрын
Good question.. i'm not 100% sure which one it was but ill keep an eye out and let you know the store name if i stumble across them. Many of them have plastic but had a "fake" metal chrome plated type plastic for the ring.
