Here's something to have handy. I broke out my shoe shine box to clean my leather boots. Then I began thinking I've never heard of anyone mentioning boot and shoe care. I guess I've took it for granted retired from the military that my boots were always polished. I have saddle soaps and polish to keep my leather boots in good shape. Good boots are not cheap and would be something to keep cleaned and maintained. During the Depression days people were using card board as insoles to cover the holes in their shoes.

When I was around 10,11 yrs old asking my Grandma why she washed off aluminum foil and folded it up to reuse it. Then she would start telling me stories about living though the great depression. She was born in 1909, I'm in my late 60's now and i think about how tuff they had it.

I like your reference to "Victory" gardens. There was a campaign in the US during WWII to start one. That preserved the crops grown by farmers to be sent to our troops overseas. Another great video! 🙂

When I was a kid I remember my grandma plastic bread wrappers ( bags ) and knit them together somehow and make rugs. They were surprisingly durable and long lasting

When saving seeds remember the difference between hybrid seeds and heirloom. You can’t save the seeds from hybrid plants, the seeds wont produce plants like the hybrid parent. Also some hybrid varieties are patented. I dont think this is strictly enforced with home gardens but who knows in the future. Heirloom varieties can at times be challenging as they are frequently suited to certain areas. So find some that grow well in your area.

Great information, thank you. I have been shopping with Azure for a few years now. I like that I can purchase items either in single or bulk and that they have a large selection of organic items. The owner has high standards for the items they have available and they try to deal with small businesses. As for pricing, they are comparable or many times less than most grocery stores. My delivery drop is 4 miles from my home so very convenient as the closest warehouse store like Sam’s or Costco are almost an hour away, so I also factor that into my decision. Azure has excellent prices for their spices, but do watch the sizes, as I am the proud owner of 1 pound of bay leaves that will be passed down for many generations 😂. They also have many herbs that can be used medicinally. Shopping with Azure may not be for everyone but I have found it works well for me. The “down” side with Azure is that the delivery is not a consistent day/time, so there needs to be flexibility in your schedule to make the pickup. I also shop with Country Life Foods. They ship via traditional shippers like FedEx or UPS. They also have a retail store in Pullman, Michigan.

To replace protein might be good idea to choose eggs, a very big box of eggs instead filets , organs from animals to make soups instead buying expensive meats, selling digital products online like digital books or something might be a good idea to make more incomes, after this crisis there will be new rich people who decided to create differents new businesses during this crisis 🎉
