This is more general than to just this video, but in my over 30 years on a Mac, I've never run into any one place more helpful on a regular basis than these videos. BRAVO! Been bookmarking like crazy.

Great video and a lot of helpful tips. One that is included in the advanced google search site but worth mentioning is searching by file type. I use this extensively when looking for sample word templates or PowerPoint files. For example: Master Thesis Template filetype:dot or Creating Effective Presentations filetype:ppt

You can search for a specific file type through Google by using filetype:[three letter extension]. For example if I wanted to find a PDF, you can use this filetype:pdf to return results that only have pdf’s.

Thanks, Gary. Not Mac specific but extremely informative nonetheless. I'll need to replay the movie in slower time to note all the keywords you came up with. Or is this info available in text form somewhere?

This is good stuff, Gary. Thanks. I looked up this on Google a couple years ago but didn't find anything as comprehensive.

I definitely recommend using ".." to narrow down the price ranges. Example: "Ipad pro 200..500$" will show only ipads matching the price criteria. Very useful, been using it most of the time.

Hey man that was awesome! Very helpful. It's funny because I saw this video a long time ago and then forgot how to find it. So I needed some advanced search techniques OR "tips and tricks" to find your video about Google tips and tricks Thanks! I now have it saved/bookmark etc..

For Chrome/Brave there is an easy extension/button you can install: "Search the current site". You do not have to type the name of the URL to search. I use it all the time. It works like a charm.

Great video, and I learned a lot! As a longtime journalist and journalism teacher, I like using the site: command in more specific ways. For example, if I only want results from US universities, I’ll use / site:edu “COVID 19” / for US government sites / site:gov “COVID 19” / or here in Canada / site:gc.ca “COVID 19” / You can also use domain: for this type of search. As you say, the advanced page is of great use if you forget the direct commands, and is also a great way to incorporate Boolean logic into your search. AND, OR etc are very powerful search refining tools. Thanks again for your top 30!

I like google’s playful animations when clicking on icons-Often pop-culture oriented. For example, search for, “friends joey” then click on the pizza 🍕 icon. Good times.

Hi Gary, for your first tip/trick, simply type „wiki apple“ and you get the same results! Otherwise very informative, never rolled a dice on Google 😉👍.

Gary, I am happy to pay the Apple tax 💵 if it can liberate me from G....E I have an iPhone / iPad / MacBook Pro to not have to share my data with G....E

You're sharing it with apple? I don't see how that's any better. They're both gigantimax tech companies that don't care about you or your privacy. If you really want a private search, you should look into DuckDuckGo, that's what I use.
