I noticed that "get" was avoided. :) That one is pluricentric depending on US or UK usage: Inf. get / Past got / Part. got (UK) Inf. get / Past got / Part. gotten (US) And the "ea"/"o"/"o" is good for two common verbs: "speak" and "break".

Hello there Tom...i happily enjoy the videos you make and they're very informative, productive thank you for recording them but i have a little issues in using the passive voice sometimes I use it only because I know it's the correct way to do so but I don't know why. Will you please make a video about passive voice?!

I always felt bad for English learners because how confusing all this could be. For example, teach and preach rhyme but don’t have the same conjugations. Teach, taught, taught and preach, preached, preached. I’m glad I’m a native speaker because I’d never be able to learn this

L'instinct de mort I’m glad I know English, but it looks like you know French (please tell me otherwise) I wiiisssshhhh I knew French. It’s so hard

So well put Diana, it is a confusing and often frustrating language but perhaps that's part of the challenge : )

A really good point Luis, it's a baffling language and irregular verbs are the best example of this! Thanks for your comment.

In Germany, students are also taught the irregular verbs in groups, and they tried to give the groups funny names. I can't remember all of them, but I do remember two: 1) sing - sang - sung etc. are called "cat verbs"! :-) Explanation: The noise that cats make (in English written as "meeouw") is in German written as "Miau". And the vowels in the verb group make (M) - I - A - U! 2) put - put - put etc. are called "chicken verbs"! ;-) Explanation: When you go into a hen house to feed the chicken, in German you say "putt putt putt!" (pronounced like your put - put - put) to calm the chicken and make them come and eat. Isn't that beautiful? I love it! When I come across the other groups of verbs and their 'German group names', I will add them here.
