I am working as an actress in NYC and the obstacles are insane- esp as an immigrant. Anyway, about mentors and finding one- I read an article a few years ago, that said that you find a mentor by living out your fullest hustle, and then repetitively asking for advice from someone. The further in you go into your hustle; just keep asking for advice. One day, you'll wake up and you'll realize they are your mentor. I am working towards being an actress, and I met an actress who is an alumni from my school who has won an Emmy award and is quite successful. I started calling her with my 'issues', and she'd help me problem solve. Our relationship has grown over the past years; but now it's becoming more like mentorship. So, the way to find a mentor, I'd say, is hustle. Eventually you'll find someone who is a decade or a few decades down your hustle line, and you'll just have to walk up and be like 'I need you to be my friend.' Other than this, have good friends who are hustling too. Some of my friends are my mentors. I call them frentors. Their hustle is so inspiring; we're all in it together. Thank you for the comment on money. Yep. Adulting is real. I've been learning about personal finance for my late teens and my twenties (I gave this speech about it that's on my channel- Centonomy- it used to have over 70 thousand views, but the company took it down- no hard feelings though) but it's still on my channel. Money is tricky because it's also a psychological concept and we tend to have family baggage attached to it, fears, shame. Money is tricky. But yeah- it's important to try to start to learn. Thanks for this- truly learned a lot. Yall are like my big sisters and I appreciate you all.
