I dont usually comment on videos, i usually just do it and then log off, but this one got me all the feels! I watched pretty much the whole video before i actually done it, thinking about how i cannot dance, how uncoridinated i am, how overweight i am, but then i saw the different sizes and Mike had such a calming voice i thought ill just do it, noone can see me. And you know what, i actually enjoyed myself. Right at the end of the cooldown, where Mike gets you to close your eyes, his little speech nearly made me cry. For someone who is suffering with depression and anxiety, and someone who constantly compares herself to others and has no confidence whatsoever his words are what i needed to hear today. So thank you to everyone at popsugar fitness for creating such a wonderful community, im so happy to have stumbled across your channel!

I'm so proud of you! You pushed yourself and did the workout and felt good about yourself. That's what hip-hop fit is all about. Everyday you wake up, everytime you pass a mirror and everytime before bed, know that your worth it. Your amazing no matter what and you can do anything. I do this routine about three times a week. I know it by heart. When I'm having a bad day, or I'm struggling to sit down and do my work, I do this routine, and all the endorphins and serotonin rushing through me afterwards gives me the boost I need to continue my day. Thank you!

@@mia-us5qy I did lose 25 lbs, but I don't attribute it solely to this. I was also depressed and not eating as well, but I've been able to keep the weight off, and have a healthier state of mind after doing this! It's also really rewarding to feel like if I need to exercise, I don't need to think about it; I just know a routine.

I am 65 years old; I take Zumba class and one day I asked the trainer if we can have hip hop.... she answer “ we have adult class and they won’t like it” now I saw a video completely , make me feel so good, they do not have the perfect body; they are young but I am sure I can do it. Thank you for this

Zumba can only have 40 % hip hop in the choreography. However there is alot of others on here

Reggaeton and Dance Hall... Soca...there are so many dance forms that are similar to Hip Hop. Like music, various dance genres have their roots in Africa. I'm glad you look further than your trainer who told you adult classes wouldn't like hip hop. I teach people of all ages and abilities, including seniors at the Calabasas Senior Center. One class is Zumba Gold and the other is Dance It Out or Dance Express. I do not go easy on them. Maybe I'll do something 8X instead of 4X. Maybe I"ll avoid too many turns. I do offer modifications and make sure that anything I'm recommending they do is safe. That said, there's no reason why I shouldn't be teaching them Hip Hop, Belly Dance, Burlesque, Bollywood. . . I also vary my music and include songs from many eras, including present-day music. Everyone loves it!!! It's Zumba Gold, not Zumba Old or Zumba Moldy. Everyone needs to try new things to keep their bodies and brains challenged - honestly, #whocares is my main motto. Who cares if you don't get the moves just perfectly right? Who cares if you go the opposite direction? Who cares if you're not as flexible as the other person? What happens if you make a mistake - nothing! Really!

Thank you so very much I was 220 pounds when I started this work out. After just three amazing weeks I went down to 180. I was so excited I wasn’t able to do the frat step or anything know I am just zipping through the whole work out. Thank you this work out really helps. One of the best hip hop dance class I have taking amazing job.

Size does have to do with fitness health. You are delusional if you think otherwise. It is possible for a skinny person to be healthy or unhealthy but for a fat person, they are 100% unhealthy. As a fat person myself insecurity and shame are the best motivators and should not be avoided. We should call people out, that we care about, to lose weight because no one should be contempt with being fat and unhealthy.

Ty I never said anything about being over weight is healthy. In fact I’m aware it’s not, hence I’m on a weight loss journey myself. I said “size has nothing to do with fitness level” an over weight person could drop down and do 20 burpees better than a skinny person. And I’m saying this as someone who does CrossFit classes with other skinny’s who come in and can’t keep up. Being fat, doesn’t mean they are unfit, you have no idea the journey someone is on and they could have lost 80 pounds and still be “overweight”, eating a much healthier diet and working out better than the girl next to them who just walked for 5 minutes and is out of breath. Please don’t be ignorant.

@@GermaineNimundel thank you for clarifying the differences about weight and fitness. most people, understandably, think the two go hand in hand but that's not the case. a person of average, "normal" weight isn't necessarily a fit person if they don't get regular exercise. i know many average sized people that do no kind of workout on a regular basis. i am plus size and i work out no less than 3x's per week with arthritis and nerve pain to boot. before those issues got worse it was 5x's per week, no less.

@@Mister.420 Nope, completely different things. I know a girl who is overweight but has ran 3 miles 4 times a week for the past 2 years. She’s fitter than most of the people I know yet “looks” unhealthy. There’s even documentaries about people who are extremely fit but are overweight or don’t look “healthy”. You can be worried for someone’s health but you definitely shouldn’t be shaming anyone. It may be a motivator for you but it can be damaging for others. You also don’t know where a person is on their fitness/health journey. They could just be starting or months into it and because you want to judge others, you think it’s okay to shame them for being fat? Please stop the self/hatred and stop pushing the hate onto others.

After being a HIP HOP teacher for over 10 years I injure myself 5 years ago and stop dance. I have done this Today and I LOVED IT. So much energy and positivism. That reminded me why I have done this for such a long time and how happy dance make me . Thank you

You should no be worried as everyone's body are different and does not mean you will injure. Just do moves that are right for your body and really good warm up and cool down and you will be fine

My son and I just followed along for our homeschool gym class and he has been the best instructor we’ve followed yet! My son was able to keep up AND loved his inspirational message as we stretched and finished out at the end. I peeked my eyes open and he had a huge smile with eyes closed as Mike spoke affirmations and told him he’s amazing! Wish he’d do more!!

Loved this workout! If you are watching this video, debating whether or not you should try it, DO IT! It is so much fun! I am NOT a hip-hop dancer (I am trained in Irish and Classical Ballet, so like the father thing from hip-hop 😂). It was still an intense and enjoyable workout. Yes, I probably looked silly and awkward doing movements that my ballerina self thought were weird. Still totally worth it!! 😉

I had no idea how uncoordinated I was - it was tough to follow for me but I stuck it through! REALLY loved all the different body types you featured here and that no one tried to outshine Mike and his directions (I struggle with that in some other Popsugar fitness videos) or had disruptive commentary. Here's a little after math! ♥️ It's been 20 days since I started this workout, additionally... I just added 30 mins, yoga.... With ... Diet... Not some strict food schedule, just... Reduced the amount of food Had more protein and fiber instead With lots of water I have lost 4 kgs... I weigh 51 now... I usually don't comment, but this work-out program made me stick to it, ( coz it's fun) and also.. it was effective...! To be honest, My stomach is bit toned, Belly bloating has reduced... Collar bone is visible... I'll update after a month I guess# So.... GOOD LUCK WITH THE ONE WHO IS TRYING THIS OUT🔥 YOU'LL DEFINITELY SEE THE RESULTS 🔥🔥 Both mentally and physically! ♥️ Month 1 ... (Update)... Guys I slacked off, was too lazy .. haha..but guess what I'm 50 kg... although I didn't workout for like 20 days ... That's ... I guess!? MAYBE ITS BECAUSE I DIDNT CHANGE THE DIET..... So good luck again I'll start with other workouts now ♥️

Thank you so much for this! I homeschool my 4th grade son, and it's hard to find exercise outlets during our cold winters. Finding a fitness video led by someone he relates to was perfect. He really enjoyed it, and I could see he was trying his best. We'll look for more of Mike Peele!

I just finished the workout and I’ve never had so much fun and sweated my butt off too. I got too excited at the “look back” at 16:20 and darn near broke my neck off lol. Love this definitely doing it again.

I have been struggling with poor body image my whole life. Always wanted to do hip hop and thought I never could. I watched Sydney most of the time, since we have a similar body type, and honestly watching her get down kept me going through the end! This was awesome!

ohhh how I love this guy's class! Totally teaches so you GET it fast. Then you re dancing! And what's more? the last 10 mites are awesome core and arm workout. This class revived me out of cover doldrums with other online stuff. So stoked, and I'm 57 year old white girl :-)

I understand cause i am fat as well but I find the insecurity and the shame to be helpful because no one should ever be contempt with being fat. When it comes to workout videos seeing overweight people losing weight does help but maintaining health while fat is delusional. These workout companies just put these people just to make people feel better and do not really care cause if those fat people become healthy then they would fire them and replace them with another fat person.

While I'm glad we're no longer bullying or body shaming, these videos are one of the few things in which being in shape does matter. I noticed some of the people who aren't in shape couldn't really do some of the exercises properly. They needed someone like the leader and Deja there at least to show everyone how to do it properly. I'd say if you're doing an exercise demonstration, you should at least be at an okay weight, or in shape enough to pull off all the exercises. It would be like me (I'm a power lifter, but I'll be the first to say my stomach is not flat, and aerobics tire me the fuck out) making a video on how to do olympic gymnastics. I'd probably pull my shit a mere few minutes into the demo lol.

@@AltairEgo1 That's not the same thing at all. You're watching how to do the unmodified steps from Mike. If you're comfortable with that, do that. The lady on the right is doing the modified steps for those with less mobility. They're not doing the steps 'improperly' otherwise they wouldn't have been chosen to be in this video.

I never comment on videos but i have to make an exception for this one. This is my favorite workout on the Popsugar page. I just started working out again a few months ago and Mike’s positivity and personality has me coming back to this workout over and over again! I do this workout at least twice a week and I cry at the end every time he gives his speech. It’s so rare to feel acknowledged for the hard work and he puts it perfectly. I’m really hoping to have way more videos featuring Mike!!! He’s precious and this video is an absolute gift! More please! ❤️❤️❤️

I have been ill and my gluts are weak and my right lower back hurts. I did some warm up and stretches and found this video. I modified it by sitting on the edge of my bed to do the work out. I def could feel it in my shoulders, gluts and lower back and it was just enough to start with. I also got my heart pumping I feel it.

tw eating disorder, body image I’ve struggles with an eating disorder for years now and it’s so hard for me to exercise without it feeling like a chore or without doing it compulsively. I always have a breakdown after I exercise about how I didnt accomplish enough. But this video is one of the few workouts I’ve found that gets me moving and actually feels fun, and at no point in the video did I feel insecure. Thank you.

I love Mike Peel. His moves are so energetic, friendly, and he didnt mind to repeat the moves over and over until I could memorize the moves (as I am a fully beginner and sucks at memorizing moves). Very few workout instructors do the moves over and over, instead they teach too fast with minimum repetition. Thanks!

Hey guys, This has truly made exercising at home whilst stuck in lock down so much more fun ! bit of feedback for ya from sunny old England...1) The warm up is a bit too fast....2)I have done this dance 4 days in a row and my neck is starting to hurt and feel stiff from twisting it and moving it so fast. Anyone looking at taking this up take your time and warm up properly. Thanks
