I am really enjoying this 30 day challenge. Thank you so much for sharing. I can see a lot of improvement in my roses and I love the quickness. I have been using other materials to you but have ordered some Jansen art traditions and am looking forward to experimenting with those. I am wondering what the difference is between your Heritage and Traditions paints? Postage of your paints to Australia made amazon prices ridiculous and I have found a supplier here of Traditions but not Heritage.

Hi Sylvia, Where did you get JansenArt Traditions? That was stopped 12 years ago. So if you have "JansenArt" it is more than 12 years old. Those paints will not work many of the things I do today. Older less expensive formula. They shouldn't be selling that anywhere. DecoArt took over the formula in 2008 and I heard is it very different now. I wouldn't use it for what I do today. Heritage is made for us by Derivan in Sydney. We just have to find a supplier in Australia and it would be a much better price there because of shipping. I like Derivan structure formula and it would be much better to use that Traditions.

@@JansenArtEducation Thanks David. I've ordered the JansenArt from craft.com.au I will look at the Derivan art site for supplies. Thanks again.

Hi Sylvia, Don't know how they have that. I used to control the formula of that line, but DecoArt took it over in a power move. I heard from other artists that they changed it and it no longer works like it did so many years ago. In either event that older formula will not work well with what I do as the binder is different. Last time I tested Traditions was about 8 years ago and it didn't work well for me. Look to structure from Derivan.

Hi Sylvia, I just checked that company. It is not JansenArt they are selling. It is DecoArt. It will not work for what I do. too thin and too weak in pigment. Look to Derivan. 😀

Thank you, professor. You are a great artist. Can you put on the video an Arabic translation option?

We have the CC turned on for the videos. We don't have them translated for other languages. Sorry.

Is this all from imagination completely?!?
@JansenArtEducation4 жыл бұрын
Those paintings are. I will sometimes use a photo of roses for inspiration, but not during the challenge. I never copy a photo because that makes my roses seem stiff. It is from imagination but I follow rules of design and composition. Been teaching that for over 30 years and it is easier than it seems, especially when you do hundreds of them. 😀

@@JansenArtEducation the risk would seem to end up with something generic, especially after over 20 other compositions, even more impressive that yours seem fresh and alive . Thank you for sharing, motivates to push for quantity to get experience and get to hung up on getting one thing perfect !

I’ve been doing this for the last 28 days and my roses are worse. I try to use the paint and it turns into mush.
@JansenArtEducation2 жыл бұрын
What paint are you using. Not all acrylics are the same and can do these techniques.
