i met johnny vegas once in euston station at around 9 o'clock at night, he was very drunk and was trying to buy a train ticket at one of the machines, he started talking to my mum and i and told me to always listen to my mums advice, unless it was about becoming an escort which he said was actually a respectable line of work. he then told us to have a good night and stumbled away into the darkness. it was such a weird night, felt like a fever dream, me and my mum went home laughing and still bring up our encounter with him to this day.

In between his insane anecdotes and rants there are brief glances at the emotional man underneath that make you think "I'd actually like to sit down and have an earnest conversation with him", and then the clip about telling the builder to fuck off starts playing and you forget all about it and start laughing 😂

I've always watched, and liked anything Johnny vegas has done. But in recent years he's on another level, especially his panel show appearances. His last leg takeover is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. You can see it in his eyes that he's plotting his next line, but every one is delivered with perfect timing.
