Never cut tire treads yourself. First, because there’s already something very wrong with the tire if you’re cutting the treads. Second, because of a thing called resonant frequency. With regularly cut (repeating pattern) treads, there will be specific speeds that cause intense vibrations that can literally destroy your vehicle, or at the very least be extremely loud…which will eventually damage something due to the vibration.

18:46 Watching and listening to this old-growth tree coming down sickens my stomach. That tree was probably several hundred years old. Felling these trees is why our planet is increasing in temperature and severe weather, while decreasing in oxygen and animal populations all over the world. And these guys were laughing and patting each other on the backs while destroying the forest that you can see in the distance as it is cut away to nothing.

2:05 If I'm correct, they are cutting off the worn original rubber to make it new, but it actually weakens the tread. This is acommon tire manufacturing scam tactic and many car accidents have resulted from premature blow-outs from these "refurbished" tires.

Asian bosses are rough. They push their workers to the max, while paying the minimum they can get away with. I spoke with an all-woman crew of Hill-Tribers in Bkk who were working night shift - speedily building a beautiful tiled/masonry walkway. They said they were being paid half regular wages, .... half of $9 for 9 hrs, 9 pm to 6:30 am (half hr break). They worked all night because that's when there were less pedestrians.

It seems to me that workers from other countries are comfortable putting a bit of pizazz and style into their work. Especially the Asian people. Simple tasks done creatively seem to heighten the difficulty but also seem as if they couldn’t be done as well any other way. I won the taco bell burrito wrap. I worked for a franchise where the owner had about 10 locations, and the owner would throw a huge party where all the locations came to have some good food and children had bounce houses and stuff. I was 17 at the time, and they had the Taco Bell Games. The fastest steamer/stuffer/wrapper. I won the fastest wrapper, because that's all I did on my 4 hour shifts. I worked 20 hours a week when I was 17. Wed-Sun from 5pm-9pm. If I remember correctly it was 10 bean burritos, 10 tacos, 5 tostadas, 3 taco salads. At our store I was also the expediter because I was so fast on wrapping that the steam, and stuff guys couldn't get me stuff fast enough. I ended up working for Taco Bell until I was 19, almost 20. So about 3.5 years total (I started at 16 years old). I ended as a shift leader. There was the GM of the store, and then 2 assistant managers, 2 shift leaders, and 4 team leaders. Usually the assistant manager would hang out doing schedule and stuff and pick up slack when we were busy, but the shift leaders ran the shift. The team leaders would assist the shift leaders, or take over for shift leader when the shift leader went home. Now you maybe have three people working a shift.
