It appears that there are even more strange things I noticed during my time playing The Legend of Zelda breath of the wild. So strange in fact that I made yet ANOTHER video about it going over EVEN MORE things that don't make sense to me, 30 more things in fact. Yes I am going to be applying real world logic to The Legend of Zelda breath of the wild yet again.
In the video above, we cover 16 facts, tips and tricks that aren’t quite as well known, ranging from secrets to glitches, so me that are pretty simple and others that are fairly complex. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been out for four years at this point, and players have found some amazing things, intended or not, that keep the game and its sense of discovery feeling fresh.

A theory for the water at Zora's domain. They use super-purified water, it's known that pure (distilled) water is not a good conductor of electricity, and also pure water can reach as far as -40 degrees Celcius before freezing depending on the conditions. That'd explain why it doesn't freeze with cryonis and why shock arrows don't do the trick.

Pure water freezes at 0 ºC. The dissolved salts are the ones that reduces the temperature of freezing. A few grams of salt per liter of water can reduce the freezing point to -1 ºC or below

It's the fact that luminous stone is not a conductor of electricity. The luminous stone is under that water so no electricity will happen.

The only other times you catch fire are with campfires and flame weapons, but even then, the upgraded armour doesn't stop you from taking the extra damage from a flaming weapon- So figuratively speaking, yes it is useless.

"Why is there not a constant updraft in death mountain?" The draft is created by the difference in air density. When the air is heated by the fire it becomes less dense, which sends it upwards and air from around the area moves towards the fire, which is heated too and moves upward, creating a constant stream of air coming from the sides and moving upward But when it comes to death mountain, there's a semi-constant temperatures in the air, which means there wont be any meaningful air streams other than the usual wind here and there just like we experience irl. The entirety of the air around death mountain is hot, so there's not enough difference in densities that would create an updraft

2:40 actually there's an explanation to how the zora's domain water doesnt conduct electricity. In real life, the only reason why water conducts electricity is because water is almost always impure and always has salinity, for example, ocean water is highly conductive because its an aqueous solution containing Sodium, Chlorine, Potassium... Etc ions.. The ions are what transfer the electricity through water, PURE water will NEVER conduct electricity. You can test this yourself at home by buying as pure as possible water , putting it on a cup and trying to run a current through it, then add salt (mix it) .. And watch as the current works. FYI, these ions are usually called electrolytes

But the cryonis still doesn't make sense, seeing how it uses only water, as evident when using it in a bog, it will still pull only pure water to form the blocks. (realistically I think they just made it impossible because then the blocks would break the NPC paths) lol

How can Bokoblins just scramble their hand in the ground and pick up a rock to throw at you wherever you are. In any environment where Bokos are, if you go out of their weapon range, they will just magically scramble in the ground and have a rock in a second.

For what it's worth, lightning isn't attracted to metal, it's attracted to tall thin objects, so a twink like Link would be very unlikely to be hit by lightning anywhere at ground level, even if he wore full plate armor, except possibly in an open field, and even then only of someone has mowed the grass recently.

If you do the physics the energy of a fall is hight x weight x gravity modifier (everywhere on earth roughly 9,81) while the energy of movement is 1/2 x weight x movement-speed times two. So you can just say that the one formula = to the other(as the both describe energy) and scratch the weight, because if one factor is one both sides of a formula, it’s effectively on none.

The windbomb trick is actually really simple. Windbombs have two different explosions, the wind, and the damage explosion. Windbomb is caused by the wind force hitting the second bomb into Link, causing him to get launched.

The running theory about storage on Ao3 is that Link’s slate is either magic or very advanced technology so the object comes out of the slate the exact same way it went in. My personal theory about how this works is that the slate can turn the object into some type of coding the slate can store and that allows Link to keep certain objects in the slate (ones compatible with the coding) and take them out just as they went in

As far as links mobility in armor, it's actually interesting how twisted the perception of armor has become in modern times. It was designed to allow full mobility specifically because it was crafted for combat. If someone is mega strong and trains with the armor constantly, what link does in the hefty suits of armor is doable, just not for long periods of time, which is really the only thing that's unrealistic here.

The material used in Zora's domain prevents water from electric effects because they are EXTREMELY vulnerable to electric damage . They don't sell shock arrows because of this. Edit : Zora are also more scared of electric weapons than other npcs.

Bomb launching makes perfect sense. The bomb that explodes sends the other bomb flying into link and it launches him forward. BOTW physics are great 👍

It only works because momentum is increased greatly during bullet time, so when anything comes in contact with each other they will be sent flying

For the armor, if you stand on lava it will still damage you however you are on direct heat and it doesn’t make you immune

I just thought of a reasonable explanation for this one. The lava is probably much hotter than the air around Link. In fact the lava should be hot enough to melt the armor itself. The volcano itself must be causing the air to heat up so naturally the source of the heat would be much hotter than the air.

What about the champions tunic,how does a blue shirt from 100 years ago provides more protection than the flame breaker, ancient armor and Knight chest plates even though they have metal and technology in them while the champions tunic is just cloth

08:43 knights in medieval armor were fully capable of doing rolls, jumps and moving as if they didn’t had any armor on. So this doesn’t seem so illogical at all.

As for #28 it's not actually impossible to do feats of agility in armor. Some people on KZbin have demonstrated some crazy movement (like back flips) and crazy parkour in a full suit of armor.

Both the inventory stuff and the shield swapping comes from the same place. Your Shikha slate turns them into digital information and stores them like data on a hard drive. It can then release/swap out items in the exact state they where when you put them in there (cooked/ alive/ frozen) as for the shield. It's just the Shikha slate instantly absorbing the old shield and replacing it with a new on.

The bomb launching works because in bullet time, objects can move at extreme speeds for some reason. So, the first bomb explodes rocketing the second bomb into links back, which gives him incredible speed. I guess the real question is how does he survive it?

The live animals one gets even weirder when you consider that you can shoot a lizard, pick it up, and then release it back, totally unscathed. Link is a necromancer.

1. Probably for the same reason that the section of the game Link is currently in is programmed to not refresh while he is there. 2. There are probably pipes that bring the water back up, like in many decorative fountains in real life. 3. I would argue that there’s a difference between standing in air hot enough to eventually set you on fire and being stupid enough to literally stand in a raging flame. Plus the Flamebreaker Armor actually can protect you from open flames once you get its set bonus. 5. Because he’s not recovering his memories on his own. If he’s not looking at the area from the exact spot he can match up with the picture, he doesn’t realize that it looks just like the picture. The man’s got severe retrograde amnesia, it’s more surprising that he even can recover his memories just by visiting places he has been to before (because that doesn’t work in real life.) 6. The Sheikah Slate probably digitizes the inventory and keeps it in stasis. 7. See above. 8. It’s probably pure h2o, which has terrible conductivity, and the pool you’re showing is likely too shallow for Cryonis. 10. Either because the enemies know how to use it right because it’s their weapon or because Link is swinging them with so much force that they can’t stay intact. 11. The description for Stasis+ says it can stop “evil creatures” and I’m fairly certain cuccos and Sheikah are not evil. Stasis also only works on objects that have the potential to move, and a tree rooted in the ground cannot move. Unless you somehow managed to get an Ent in the game. 12. Because if Nintendo made NPCs killable, people would complain that they got locked out of a quest because they killed an important NPC. 13. It’s a minigame in a video game. It has to be repeatable. You are way overthinking this. 14. Best guess is because if Link is resting by the fire, his system will process the potion far slower than if he’s running all over the place burning energy and getting into fights. 15. Because the Sheikah Slate might as well be magic and so it can basically break the laws of physics. 17. It is, in fact, possible to fireproof wood. Also you just know that the stable master has a bucket ready the whole time. 20. Cooking meat removes moisture from it, and the moisture that’s left is often sort of bound to the fibers of the meat. As such, it could be harder to freeze. 21. It’s impossible to complete several puzzles if the blocks move, and so they stay in place. Just blame Sheikah magic. 22. It’s a glitch/exploit, Nintendo didn’t make the choice to put it in the game, and so the only people you can blame are the people who figured it out. Also it’s called wind bombing. 23. Link is far too nice to ignore someone who needs help. 24. Because the monks could see the future. They knew that Pokki would be blocking the shrine when Link needed to access it, and so they rewarded him for helping her. 25. Updrafts occur when warm air rises until it hits warmer/less dense air. All the air around Death Mountain is the same temperature, and so none of it will move. 26. The gravity thing only applies in a vacuum. Air resistance affects the rate of descent. 28. Armor that isn’t literal plate armor is usually made to preserve as much freedom of movement as possible. 29. Lizards can swim really fast if they want to. All in all, I really think you’re trying way too hard to find problems that generally don’t exist.

Things that could be good for part 4 is that, link with armour will swim slower than when he does without clothes, that makes sense, because of the weight of the armour, but what don't make any sense is that when link is walking, he sould've walk slower, but it is the same speed,, also, how can Link not get tired when walking.

about the "stasising random things" i believe it only applies, if an object is movable/moves on its own. the tree isnt normally stasis-able, that is because its not meant to be moved, but when cut down its falling meaning you can now stasis it

@Gary Williams This never made a whole lot of sense to me. The stasis rune was literally incapable of stasising living creatures until it got an upgrade. So under that logic one would simply assume there was an intentional lock put on the device so under no circumstances could it effect none monsters.

After playing Breath of the Wild for over 450 hours. Here are some more logic that don't make sense in breath of the wild. 1-Shields don't break when parrying, you can parry a lynel crusher with a Pot shield and it doesnt break 2-When weapons break, they all break as if they are made of ancient(Guardian) materials 3-You need to Heat Melons to get Heat resistance. 4-The Gerudo that blocks your path is dehydrated so she wants to cool, but the desert at night goes down below freezing point. 5-In the Faron Woods you hear Monkeys, but they are not there. 6-If it becomes cloudy when you are in a place that becomes cloudy, the places the don't becomes cloudy appears to be cloudy. Example, If you are in Akkala and it thunderstorms, death mountain appears to be cloudy and having thunder even though Death Mountain never receive thunder or becomes cloudy when you are there. 7- Link gets cold below 0C and becomes dehydrated above 39C, however when link equips cold weapons at 0C he doesn't get cold, and when link equips a hot weapon in 39C he doesn't feel dehydrated 8-The coldest temperature in Breath of the Wild is -63 C (maybe), but that's just a number since any temperature that goes below -11C will be the same -11C for Link. 9-There are red leaves scattered in Hyrule, but the only way to remove them is to hit them not to use Korok leaf. Its weird considering that in the Wind Waker you remove red leaves when a using Giant Leaf. 10-The Memories and the Past Pictures that are in shiekah slate are supposed to be before Calamity takes over, yet they appear as they are in ruins in the same way as the present. 11-The Flower lady becomes mad at you for stepping on the Flowers and even harms Link, but when Chuchu Arrives and steps on the flowers she doesnt harm them she just runs.(On my playthrough, she herself ran into the FLOWERS😂) 12-In Lakeside Stable in Faron Woods there are some people who say they want to see dragon if its real, but Farosh Dragon always pass through the bridge next to them. 13-When you wear Bokoblin Mask, the monsters that are not Bokoblin dont recognize you as a bokoblin. 14- When you wear Bokoblin Mask, and Bokoblins thinks you are one of them. When one gets hurt by accident they instantly know that you are not one of them.

When Link wakes up from the Shrine of Resurrection, how does he know how (or have the strength) to walk, run, jump, climb, and swim as soon as he gets up? How _can_ he even get up? If someone wakes up from a coma in real life, they have to go through therapy because their nerves shut down and their muscles lose strength due to not being used for a long time. And, Link lost his memory. He wouldn't be able to remember how to use his limbs without someone re-teaching him. Yet, he's just like, "I've been asleep for 100 years and I can function like a perfectly normal not-100-year-old Hylian!" Like??

Since the shrine is designed to regenerate damage done to his body, I just assumed that it kept his muscles and nerves in a stable condition so that he would be able to move again without needing to relearn the process. Also, it's fairly clear that his memory loss wasn't complete. He's got amnesia, but he still remembers how to do subconsciously learned behaviors such as moving and speaking.

when link falls faster than other objects is something that makes both sense and no sense at the same time because a weapon is lighter than link himself, so it will fall down more slowly but for a metal box it makes no sense because it is heavier than link, so it should fall faster than link but it doesn't. But link does hold a bunch of materials, being able to hold like 999 steaks and armor, so this could also be a reason why link falls faster than most objects.

I noticed from video #2 that when you destroy a tree, not only is the wood magically cut into perfect planks, but it is tied up with a mysterious rope. Also, you can fly halfway across the map, from Death Mountain to Hyrule Castle, in one flight! Another related note, why is there a LITERAL VOLCANOE right next to not one, but TWO snowy areas. And why is it that you can kill a single Eldin ostrich, you can get a raw whole bird AND a bird thigh? Do these birds have three legs??? And how come a campfire only burns a small area of the wood? I mean, it NEVER spreads at all. AND (I'll try to stop soon), How come some NPCs NEVER SLEEP? I see no logic.

How come when you wear one type of enemy mask, it only fools that one type of enemy? For example, you could be wearing a bokoblin mask, and bokoblins would be oblivious to the fact that you're not one of their kind, but if you used the bokoblin mask and approached a moblin, it would instantly start attacking you. You'd think they would all just accept that you were an monster like them.

I have a theory for 6 and 7. I believe that link uses his sheikh slate teleportation feature to teleport the excess items he’s not using into a sort of pocket dimension, and he could have like a whole bunch of fridges and cages and junk in there. Also, hestu’s magic just makes the pocket dimension bigger

At the Serenne Stable there are 3 people: Onya, Akrah, Garshon, trying to solve what happened to the leviathans. And yet they don't bother too mention the other giant skeletons. Like the ones around Tawa Jinn Shrine, or the ribs next too the Lanayru tower? Strange.

I have also found some "logical" things in this game. Here is a list of them. -Diamonds that cost less than an armor. -Every products get replaced in every store EXEPT the arrows (unless you have not a lot of arrows). -Champions weapons that are made of diamond can STILL break. -Getting freezed by touching a living ice block but you don't freeze by touching ice. -Every Lynels getting an upgrade EXEPT the one near the zora domain. -Loosing hearth instead of stamina to pull the master sword. -Archeonic arrows doing 500 damage to guardians but other archeonic stuff just does a little bit more damage to them. -The beach's sand does NOT slow you down while the desert's one does. -Being able to hit things that are locked through time and space with cinetis (in real life you just wouldn't be able). -Drowning and Jumping in lava does not kill you instantly, you just loose a hearth. -Monsters before the calamity were cowards but now even if they have 1 HP they still wanna k!ll you. -Surviving while you're falling of a cliff. -The thunder mask makes you immune to thunderbolts but not the slightest shock of electricity. -Link does NOT get tired of constantly walking a slope. -Different Bows do different damages. -Firing 3 or 5 Arrows while using only one. -Boomerangs do not break if you throw it at your ennemy while other weapons do. -You can climb anything but the shrines' walls. -Shield surfing on a frozen ennemy while being concentrated launches you to the other side of hyrule. -The King's phantom can interact with things such as making a campfire and cooking apples. -Being able to cut a guardian's legs but not Ganon's. -There is a place in Akkala where there's always a thunderstorm.

Great Fairies. They enhance your armor, if, indeed, it can be enhanced. If you go to them without any armor that can be enhanced, you can choose to find out why they can't. But when you get some armor enhanced, but then they can't enhance any more, they tell you they can't and dive back into their springs. Why don't you get the option to find out why not before they leave? Why do you have to call them right back out of the spring? In the Faron Region, on the path north of Nette Plateau (which leads to the Horse God's spring), there are two holes that aren't very far away from each other at all. They are, of course, holes for boulders to go into, which solves a Korok Challenge. The weird thing is, boulders "intended" for one hole will vanish if they get too far away, which may prevent you from using them in the "wrong" hole.

i actually have an explanation for number 8 at 2:49 1. its way too shallow to make a huge ice block out of. cryonis is the concept of freezing ice from a pre-existing water source to make a solid surface 2. the luminous material used in zoras domain is meant to counter the spread of electricity in water, since the zoras are extremely prone to electricution i hope that helps

Lemme explain why windbombs make sense: Bullet time is NOT a game side effect link has really the ability to slow down time so now if we try to understand how windbombing works: 1: Link places a round bomb 2: Link enters bullet time 3: Link places a square bomb 4: Link detonates the round bomb 5: For some reason the round bomb detonation creates the same ammount of momentum as if link wasnt in bullet time 6: As the round bomb created an enormous amount of momentum the square bomb is ejected super fast as fast as if there was no bullet time and so because theres bullet time it means that the square bomb is going absurdly fast 7: The square bomb colides into link at a ridiculous speed sending him in the direction of the square bomb

The lizard one makes sense. You just drop the lizard in and it supa swims away. Simple. XD I mean, have you seen most reptiles swim? they're actually pretty quick.

Fun fact: about the armor agility thing, link actually swims faster when not wearing any armor (except the zora armor but, duh) than he does when he is.

For the metal armor thing. If you were struck while wearing metal armor, the armor would act as a counducter around your body, preventing you from getting hurt. I guess they knew that but just made it, so it never strike you instead of making that a full feature.

the first memory i found was with some teeny tiny birch trees, how did they not grow at ALL in 100 years?? I think my fav thing that doesn't make sense is i can be yeeted several feet with 1/4 heart remaining fighting a blight, then mid fight i can stop to eat a full meal or two or three

I have an idea: When a monster attacks you, Link is knocked backward. But when the monster attacks you again and your still lying on the ground, Link is flung back again, but he does not take damage.

How come when a monster defeats an npc they simply get knocked unconscious for a few minutes? No matter how strong the monster or how powerful the weapon used is, npc's never take enough damage to die. Yet we're expected to believe hundreds died during the great calamity against these same exact monsters. And I know its the exact same monsters as from 100 years ago because the blood moon revives all enemies. What did people just evolve into unkillable beings during this 100 year timeframe?

The Zoras built their domain in such a way that it nullifies electric currents, mainly because, you know, THEY ARE FISH! They state at several points that any amount of electricity is lethal to them (except Seggin, who's slightly more resistant), so they built their home to completely disperse their biggest threat. Also ignore the fact that we can shoot thunder arrows through them, that's a Gameplay thing, also Link's the Hero and wouldn't actively hurt innocent civilians so the game doesn't let you.

Wind-bombing or ‘bomb jumping’ is easy to explain, there is two collision boxes (spherical) when either bomb explodes. There is a ‘wind’ collision (WC) and a ‘damage’ collision (DC) box, the WC starts before the DC and so when the Sphere bomb explodes the Square bomb gets pushed then explodes, then the square bomb launches into link with such speed that link won’t get damaged, and link goes flying.

I don't get how that Gerudo eating the Hydromelons in the "Mystery Polluter" side quest takes AGES to eat the one Hydromelon, but Link can eat one in a matter of seconds!

Another things: When you have stonesalt, it is very big and intensiv so when Link cooks with it, it has to be too much Salt in it . Or Link can survive without drinking water! And He doesn't even eat every day

Actually, the velocity of an object during a free fall through the air is depending on it's mass. So, as Link is heavier than the other objects, meaning that he has a bigger mass, he has to fall faster than them. At least, if I remember physics class correctly xD
