Tip. Never vaccum up baking soda with a DYSON. It ruins the filter and it won't turn on anymore. Rest in Peace expensive cleaning machine I loved.

Some vacuums have an automatic power off when overheated. Was going to toss my vacuum but wanted to try it one more time after an hour, and that did the trick. Changing/ cleaning the filters also keeps it going. It's surprising how many people don't know that.

The idea is when you take off knobs on a dresser to not damage them you can still open the drawers after the move. It's not saran wrap, it's packing wrap....very different. Like the stuff furniture stores wrap a couch being delivered in.

But if you Sellotape the drawers to keep them in place. When you come to taking the Sellotape off it will take some of your varnish off with it as I have experienced this with other items.

We are a military family and move ALOT. Some Of these “TIPS” are useful. We are moving AGAIN, at the end of JULY to San Diego it will be our biggest move yet. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Movers don’t give a shit how your belongings are packed as long as they get their pay at the end of the week. Spend extra money on bubble wrapping things like pictures, mirrors and even holiday things that are glass or could break. Using trash bags to keep cloths organized is AMAZING!!!! Movers with just throw all your shit in a box and tape it up. Use things like pots and pans to your advantage with the space they have. In bigger pots put your silverware in and tape the lids down tight!

Mark James Here's my top 10 things to do when hiring a moving company. 1. Be ready to move. Have everything packed that is going with the mover. We don't take loose items or open boxes. 2.Clear off all furniture. Don't have stuff on top of what you want to go in the truck. Time is money. The time we have to take to clear off things is costing you money. 3. Don't assume you know how we pack the truck or what we will be loading first. It's irksome. 4. Have all hallways and entryways clear. Don't stack boxes in pathways. Don't have anything on the stairs. 5. Have your car out of the driveway by the allotted time you have contracted us to show up. 6. Don't be or get in our way. Secure all pets and children. You've hired professionals to do a hard job you didn't want to do yourself, don't make it harder for us. And please, don't tell us how to do our job. We'll ask you any questions we need answers to. 7. Offer us water. It's polite. 8.Tipping is not required, but is appropriate. We are handling everything of value you've worked for. If we take care of it, take care of us. 9. Most moving companies websites have a "guide" on their page on preparing for moving day. Reference it. 10. Lastly....we understand moving is a stressful time. But that's no excuse for being a jerk. Don't be a jerk! We are all strong men who would have very little trouble tossing you out a window. Not that we would, but just know that we could. These tips will streamline the process and save you money. It will also help keep your movers safe while performing a taxing job. You're moving that day. I move 6 days a week.

The carton thing is because you are pouring it wrong. The mouth is at the top so the same amount of liquid and air can be exchanged. So there isn't a need to cut a hole in the carton
