Im not sure if people are misunderstanding this song but from what i understand its not really a cute, romantic song but more of, like a lot of the songs on this album, an acceptance that even if you feel like someone is for you or if you love someone they might not reciprocate those feelings and you should come to terms with that. Idk, just my thoughts

Okay, today is a day I get to feel all the emotions, it seems. Had me laughing out loud at the same time I was smiling so softly and understandingly. When you're young, you really do believe that the 30 plan is just a delayed yes, but it really is just kicking the no further down the road. The ending being ambiguous is wonderful, I do hope the lesson was learned, but I can't hold it against them if it wasn't. After all, they didn't get to experience all of the life they would have in those ten years. Absolutely beautiful art. I'm amazed I'm just now finding all of this.

I feel like this is stupidly obvious in retrospect but he definitely goes back in time. Case in point, putting the end and start together gives us "I'm about to change my life forever/and it starts tonight". It can be left up to interpretation, but It's a loop if you loop it

I’m pretty sure the song is about the dangers of “maybe let’s be together” relationships. It should be yes or no. That’s the lesson. I like to think he went back to the past for his closure though
