I really appreciate the transparency. Portfolio drawdown control is key to protect past gains and to best exploit the future market's recover. Imo we should always try to keep drawdown under -8%. Over -12/-15% could get you trapped for a long time if market doesn't recover in a few months and it will take more % proportionally to recover it anyway.

Great analysis, almost always agree with you... except on Bitcoin... its a new kind of money, what does fiat do? Its fiat productive? No more than bitcoin, its just a matter of adoption, and cost of transferring btc is much less than fiat, and cant be controlled or printed by government, that's why many believe it will gain much more value after massive adoption

Thanks for sharing insights of your portfolio, Adam😊 But there's plenty of tell tale signs that conditions are not right fundamentally and technically. Earnings decreasing (fundamental), Price and volume go under 200MA and heavy selling off. 2023 just started and it may get worse who know. Why not keep cash till these conditions improve later?

Not doubt these FANMG stock will recover up, but it may not lead the market then. Just like CISCO in 2000, it took 20 years to regain its peak. McDonald in 1999 regain back in 2011. great video but do you really think that STOCK ROTATION can not be anticipated? in november 2021 I read lots of financial articles suggesting rotating away from "work at home" stocks like amazon, shopify, netflix, facebook and all the major high growth stocks as the economy was reopening and rotate to pharma (even the ETF) and consumer staples (MCD, KO etc). I did not rotate because I said to myself "if i sell now, i will have to pay 26% capital gain (italian rate) so I AM willing to take a 26%-30% risk of my portfolio going down but i dont sell since I still believe in the underlying business of my stocks". And that's exactly what happened. Your thoughts?

However, one COULD have predicted the effect FED action would have on the stock market - and COULD have acted accordingly, in early '22. The FED (not just CNBC) was VERY CLEAR about their objectives relating to inflation. ***Buy stock when the FED's job is done!*** Better luck in '23.

It is all about the FED. Until there is a pivot on pausing interest rates and even decreasing rates, I do not see growth stocks ever having any any resurrection chances. Those years that growth stocks outperform the index is when interest rates are Low and if there is QE, will be on steroids. For now, only value stocks are worth holding or frankly no stocks for now till there is a pivot .

Because dcf is just a tool to measure a fair value based on your assumptions. The more important part is understanding the economics of the biz, and psychology of a patient investor

In 2020 I was up 30%, 2021 up 28%, 2022 -15%, so far for 2023 I'm down - .34% I'm definitely happy overall and think it's a low probability that we have back to back bear markets... and the market will recover during the recession which I think is this year...the only way we have max capitulation is only if everyone sells out... I'm optimistic either way. Buying more.
